It seems decent if you want it to just type out a trip for you. Google is easier to use and IMO does a better job without paying a fee. Will prob never use and it cost money.

Campendium was awesome in every way. RT makes no sense and is difficult to use.

Have been using Roadtrippers for many years and it only gets better and better. If, like me, you want to plan out details this is the perfect tool and the “Explore” feature lets you find stuff you would never otherwise notice. Have found MANY treasured stops this way. If you just want to find your route you (or rather, another passenger) can use the program while you are driving to find restaurants, sites, campgrounds, parks, hotels, etc. Recent update is something I first thought about when GPS first started (wish I had marketed it). Namely, audio stories about places nearby that provide history and context for what you are driving through. Only small item I would love to see is mapping of EV / Tesla superchargers taking into account car range (I use EV Trip Planner for that and integrate its locations into Roadtrippers. Well worth the cost of subscription! One more point - having a library of trips is a great help with planning your next trip to revisit good spots or avoid bad ones.
  • Great app until they locked my routes and raised the membership fee

I traveled across the country 4 times and planned all my routes with this app. The original membership fee was around $30 for the year which was reasonable. I have another road trip coming up and went to use the app which required an update. After I updated the app I found that all but 3 of my saved routes had been locked until I pay an $80 fee to go from the basic membership to premium. It was a great app until they decided to more than double the price. Just use google maps, its free

Super annoying app. Difficult to copy any text in the app which is necessary because the app functionality is so limited. It shows only select options (must be based on business relationships with the company or something, but you have to leave the app to find all the things on a route that you might want and then plug specific addresses in to Roadtrippers to add it to a trip. - Roadtrippers shows only a tiny fraction of what actually exists along a route) you can’t have multiple types of things suggested for one trip, you can’t only pick one category… Doesn’t even have good functionality for something basic like finding and adding gas stations to the trip…. Same with hotels. Severely limited app. Very disappointed.
  • I don’t like it

Roadtrippers is basically useless unless you pay. And according to other reviews, even if you pay for it, it’s still a disappointment .Most of the features are locked behind a subscription, and you can do better with free tools like Google Maps or even ChatGPT. Disappointing to run into yet another app driven by greed. Save your time and money.

No easy to figure out. I have a pro account but don’t have access to rv safe navigation options. Overall just confusing to figure out.

I’ve been using this app for almost 8 years and over time they’ve only cared about making a buck and charging $60 for an app at one point was free to use. Such a shame that they sold out, as most companies do, and destroy a good app by over charging. I cannot even access my old trips without paying $60. What a shame the developers have decided to do to this app.

First I have not found an app that does what Roadtrippers does. Second it does it really well. My only issue would be that there isn’t a family plan or a family subscription. I would like to see that option and then I could rate it higher. But especially now not having that is a big downside. If I could an alternative I would give it a look based on not having this one feature. Got a developer reply, they are considering family plans. They have alternatives, I know about both and neither seem appealing to me. Hopefully they decide to do that or put the subscription into the App Store eco system. Then it would automatically be offered to all family members.
