    I need to add a person and remove a person. We want the “new person” to take over for the “person removed”…we want the person who drew the “person removed” to draw the “new person”…we don’t want the person who had the ”person removed” to have the person she had…does that make sense? How do we do this?

    This app is extremely convenient and easy to use. I did a secret Santa with my friends and it was amazing. My favorite feature is probably the wishlists because I never know what to get people but it wasn’t a problem in the slightest this year. I completely recommend and I will definitely use it again. :)

    This app absolutely ruined our family Christmas. We used it to run a Secret Santa game and the app code must have been written by a 3 year old because it left one of us out. It assigned 2 of us as gift givers to the same gift recipient. Imagine all of us sitting around the Christmas tree opening gifts one at a time only to realize that my sister was not getting a gift this year because this pathetic excuse for an app left her out. For context, I’m a professional software engineer who usually runs a Secret Santa app that I wrote myself. This year due to time constraints we decided to use this app instead and I completely regret it. There are 5 of us and we only put in 2 exclusion rules. How does the app logic not check to make sure that every participant is assigned as a gift recipient?! This is basic software testing that college freshmen know how to do. I know for sure that there is a solution to our setup because I went back and ran my own code and was able to generate several solutions. To the app development team - fire your engineers and QA team for not checking for this very obvious core use case. If you can’t write basic software tests then don’t develop an app for distribution to the public. Maybe spend a little more time on “hello world” before you pretend that you’re competent enough to compete with actual product teams who actually know what they’re doing. To everyone else - make sure not to use this app under any circumstances because it’ll ruin your Christmas. There is no way to check that each person has been assigned.

    I just need an app that will let me randomly generate name assignments (with stipulations about who can draw who) for a gift exchange. At no point should I have to enter the holiday being celebrated, the date of the celebration, enter anyone’s email address or wish list…and I should be able to create the entire list of generated names with one click. The fact that I have to jump thru any hoops to get what I want is ludicrous, and I won’t use this app again if these issues aren’t addressed. Here’s the response I got from the app’s developers: "We're sorry to hear that our app did not meet your expectations. At this moment we do not have an option to simply generate a list of drawn names. Our app has been designed in a way to bring everyone together for a festive celebration to make the gift-giving a magical experience.” Wow…the spin! The only thing y’all could’ve done worse than not responding to my review was to send me some disingenuous nonsense about “bringing people together.” Your app is designed the way it is so that you can mine data, and use said data in ways that your customers wouldn’t approve of. Y’all should quit while you’re behind…
