    I tried out the trial version, and I couldn’t figure out why I kept hearing audio for a movie I didn’t choose. SO frustrating! Thankfully, a quick search gave me the info that this is a common development error using Shudder on Apple TV, so I cancelled the trial. Fix it, y’all! You have the ONLY app I’ve had with this issue!

  • Good content/frustrating app

    When I want to watch something on Shudder and I start the app, there is something playing immediately, which is fine, but if I don't get off that screen quickly enough, the sound from whatever is playing keeps playing. I'm trying to watch something else, and I have to listen to what is going on in two shows/movies. Then I have to restart the AppleTV. Seems like it should be easy to fix but it has been going on for over a year.

    Subscribed in hopes of the promise of getting classic horror and rare gems from the past. Instead, it’s about 50% “originals” that are terrible films and about 30% “classics” that seem to stay on there forever. The rest is a roulette wheel of great to garbage.

    Do not get this if you ever wanna cancel your subscription you can’t even do it in the app and it tells you to go on there website and so I did and then it tells me to go the the App Store so I canceled it there when when I go back on the app to delete my acct it won’t let me saying I have to cancel my subscription first worst app ever

    I’m a sucker for older horror films but most of their catalog is not very good. Films are not well organized and it doesn’t even include the greats like Nightmare on Elm Street. This app doesn’t really warrant even a $6 monthly sub.

    It cost me $7.00 to find out I can’t download movies to watch offline. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

  • Originals have gotten pretty good

    The classic titles are hit or miss, and many stay on rotation- although not usually a full set. Giallos are abundant, as you get most (if not all) from Argento, Fulci, Mario etc…and those have their own flare. But, as far as the Orignals go? It’s hit or miss. Some are absolute 2/10 modern woke trash, more worried about diversity and inclusion than hacking someone’s face off. Others are easily 8+/10 and really show off the talents of modern horror directors. I usually watch a YouTube video once a month “Must see Shudder Originals” or “Best Shudder Movies 2023” or something along those lines- and I’ve been more than pleasantly surprised. Some are just fantastic. Give it a try and don’t expect Netflix.

    Has plenty of horror content. App could use QoL improvements and the ability to download for offline watching. The latter especially made me eventually stop using Shudder.
