  • Trusting app maps

In the Bahamas, does it better. Nine times out of 10 it says there’s a coral head. It’s right there. Making the tough crossings into Harbor that are a little dicey. I wouldn’t try it without it. Ted on Sundog.

I have used Aqua Map for approximately 7 years. Main use is in San Diego and occasional trips to the Virgin Islands. Best thing is to read the help sections and study the tutorials. Everything is available and very easy to turn features off if not needed for your particular purpose or boating habits. But highly recommended for long and short voyages. Another great feature is the ability to update information regarding anchoring areas, inlets, missing buoys, restaurants, places with good service or bad; you get the idea. The company has progressively improved this product through the years and every time I have contacted them via email I get a quick response and useful feedback. Try it out.

I have been using Aquamaps for several years along with Navionics. Aquamaps is better and my primary source. I still use Navionics for a 2nd opinion…

Trying to out from a recommendation from a friend as they claim it’s more accurate with depths. The accuracy remains to be seen but navionics seems way more intuitive and user friendly.
  • Top software for navigation

I have used all the other navigation software… Aqua Map is absolutely the easiest to use, the most clear and simple for navigating areas you are unfamiliar with. If you are transiting the ICW, you are literally being irresponsible if you don’t use Aqua Map with Bob423 Tracks and USACE data. The anchor alarm function is also outstanding.

Created an account and first the email verification page link would result in a page not found. Finally confirmed the account and the app won’t allow me to log in.

Love the app…graphics and content are great…I only wish it would auto route like Active Captain and Navionics.
  • Best navigation app I’ve ever used.

Professional Captain. I use this to plan and as a back up on vessels I move. Very accurate and useful. With ACOE soundings overlaid on charts, it’s the best way to navigate dangerous areas.
