    I’ve been a very early user of this and it honestly still deserves one star. Battery draining, constant upgrade pro popups, lack of free version features, and to top it off when there is an issue the first thing support says is upgrade your phone OS software and reinstall ? Like nahhhh get outta here with that.

    I love Marco Polo, and I’m absolutely furious that they will be taking away features and requiring people to pay for them. It’s seems to me like they are taking advantage of pandemic and all of the people who now rely on the app to reach their friends and family. They said it was because they aren’t making enough money, after saying that usage has increased a lot because of Covid. Great app, but not worth paying a monthly fee. UPDATE: after promising that long-time users of Marco Polo would NOT have to upgrade (I can provide proof that they told me this), Marco Polo has now forced everyone to upgrade, going back on their original statement. I will say it again: once the developer realized how necessary this app was for people during the pandemic, they decided to hike prices for no other reason than to squeeze money out of the customers and profit off of the current disaster. The app is NOT worth $60 a year. I’m absolutely disappointed with this company and app. UPDATE 2025: This app has been killed by their own greed. I have used this app since 2017/18 and I’ve watched it slowly die. Every update is worse and worse, basic features don’t work, the quality of videos is terrible now, endless glitches, I can’t save videos anymore (it keeps saying conversion failed) and the app is borderline unusable. It’s obscene to me that they expect people to pay for an app that they are purposely driving into the ground. They’ve locked more and more feature behind a paywall and then made the app completely dysfunctional and broken, even if you DO pay. It’s sad to see that they’ve taken an amazing app that benefitted so many people and absolutely destroyed it for the sake of money. UPDATE 2: Super funny that after my last update, my app was immediately wrecked. I’ve lost every single video sent (to me and from me), except for the ones sent in the last few hours. Some of the videos are straight gone, some of them just can’t be watched. Someone I blocked and deleted TWO YEARS AGO suddenly showed up on my feed with “2 new videos to watch!” Again, despite my blocking and deleting this person and their chat. The timing is just unbelievable. Avoid this app at all costs.

    Great to use to chat with friends, but it sends me notifications saying that I ‘missed a message’, but there are no missed messages. Very annoying, I think it is lying just to try to get you to open the app so their app usage looks good.

    This is mainly cause of my best friend… but still! So glad I’m able to FaceTime without facetiming. I can have a face to face conversation without having to do hours at a time. Thank you!

    This used to be a great app. Over the years, they have rolled out a lot of features that have drastically improved it, but at an extremely high subscription. As they’ve increased the subscription, they have removed so many of the standard features that make the app user-friendly. Just a cash grab at this point.

    I’ve used MP for years and it’s always been great up until a few months ago. Whatever they changed the “updating” takes a very long time. You’ll get the notification that you have a new one and even be able to see the transcript, but you open the app and it shows no new ones. If you wait through the “updating” it takes about 3-5 minutes and they’ll finally show up. Prior to that issue, I would’ve given it 5 stars. But it’s definitely a very frustrating change when you’re attempting to talk back and forth.
