Description

The most powerful USB cleaning utility ever made! Quickly and easily remove pesky junk and ghost files from your external USB drives. .DS_Store, Thumbs.db, .Spotlight, and trashes files take up precious space, and can cause issues on some devices. Remove them all quickly and easily with USBclean. Configure USBclean the way you want! Remove any number of pre-configured filetypes, or add your own custom filetypes for more flexibility. Remove files by dragging your drive into the handy drop zone, from the system menubar, or by dropping straight onto the dock icon. You can easily configure USBclean to run only from the system menubar and open at login. It's a snap to auto quit after dropping your drive onto the dock icon. USBclean **always ejects your drive after cleaning for your convenience. USBclean is useful for: *cleaning annoying files which don't play on your media devices. *removal of Mac only files (useful when sharing USB drive with a friends PC). *removal of Windows only files which take up useful space *removing files of any number of (customizable) filetypes. [for instance, to quickly remove all m4a files from an external drive, go to the "File Types" preference-tab and quickly add "m4a" to the extensions field] **Automatic eject is not available for all Volume types.

I never write reviews but this app solved a massive annoyance when using vintage music samplers with modern media. Now i dont have to look at duplicates of every single file when scrolling through very small screens on a daily basis. Very easy to use as well, really a huge quality of life improvemnt for my workflow!

I've been using USBClean for a while and I think it's great little helper for safely ejecting drives especially if you're using your drives back and forth between different platforms. Thank you developer for your efforts.

Quick and simple for cleaning those pesky dot and other misc files off of thumb/external drives before using on other platforms
  • Doesn't work any more

Was great when I first got it, but now, even after I give it permissions for full disk access, it doesn't do anything. You can use the included dot_clean utility in the Terminal window to do the same thing now.

USBclean works well. It cleans up all of the "garbage" files on the USB drive containing music files to be played in my vehicles.

I can't get the program to do anything. There are no instructions. A total waste of money.

I was having issues playing mp3 files in my 2017 Nissan Versa USB port because of the extra ._files. This made all those go away, just as the other reviews said. Made my USBs work as they should, when pugged into car USB ports with radios. Worth every penny, Thanks!

USB Clean app works well to clean-up all of the remaining files after deleting applications to the trash in Mac iOS Sierra. The fragmented files are deleted completely. The free version of USB clean worked so well, I upgraded to the Pro version, just to support the developer. Try this app for free and form your own opinion, but I think you will be very pleased with the application.
