Get things done! The award-winning Things app helps you plan your day, manage your projects, and make real progress toward your goals. Best of all, it’s easy to use. Within the hour, you’ll have everything off your mind and neatly organized—from routine tasks to your biggest life goals—and you can start focusing on what matters today. “Things offers the best combination of design and functionality of any app we tested, with nearly all the features of other power user applications and a delightful interface that never gets in the way of your work.” —Wirecutter, The New York Times KEY FEATURES • Your To-Dos Your basic building block is the almighty To-Do—each a small step toward a great accomplishment. You can add notes, tag it, schedule it, and break it down into smaller steps. • Your Projects Create a Project for any big goal, then add the to-dos to reach it. Use headings to structure your list as you outline your plan. There’s also a place to jot down your notes, and a deadline to keep you on schedule. • Your Areas Create an Area for each sphere of your life, such as Work, Family, Finance, and so on. This keeps everything neatly organized, and helps you see the big picture as you set your plans in motion. • Your Plan Everything on your schedule is neatly laid out in the Today and Upcoming lists, which show your to-dos and calendar events. Each morning, see what you planned for Today and decide what you want to do. The rest is down to you :) MORE THINGS TO LOVE As you dive deeper, you’ll find Things packed with helpful features. Here are just a few: • Reminders — set a time and Things will remind you. • Repeaters — automatically repeat to-dos on a schedule you set. • This Evening — a special place for your evening plans. • Calendar integration — see your events and to-dos together. • Tags — categorize your to-dos and quickly filter lists. • Quick Find — instantly find to-dos or switch between lists. • Magic Plus — drag the + button to insert to-dos anywhere in a list. • Share extension — create to-dos with content from other apps. • Widgets — see lists on your home/lock screens. • Mail to Things — forward an email to Things; now it’s a to-do. • Markdown — structure & style your notes. • And much more! MADE FOR IPHONE Things is tailored to the iPhone with deep system integrations as well. A great example is the Share extension, which allows you to create to-dos with content from other apps, such as a link to a website you want to get back to. You can also enjoy a beautiful dark mode at sunset, connect your calendars, add a variety of widgets, create to-dos via Siri, import from Reminders—Things can do it all! There’s even Shortcuts integration if you want to automate your workflows. MADE FOR APPLE WATCH Things comes with a great app for Apple Watch. There is no way to refund this app, somebody described this as a frustrating experience and couldn’t find more accurate words. This app doesn’t integrate well with any enterprise grade ecosystem. It could potentially work for you if you lived in a remote island by yourself but even then you couldn’t install it and get a refund! Keep your money in your pocket and try other alternatives before dropping 60 bucks on this app (mac + iPhone)

What I need MOST from any reminder app is an “in your face” alert that something needs to be done today. Having a little number on the corner of the app icon when there are undone tasks works PERFECTLY for me, but apps generally don’t describe whether they have it or not. So I held my breath when I bought this. But guess what — THERE’S A NOTIFICATION BADGE! I win! PS: Devs, please mention this in the app description!!

  • From 2Do to Things 3

I’ve been using the 2Do app for MANY years. I have tried out many other productivity apps over the years but always came back to 2Do. One of the main items I’ve been looking for in another app is the ability to put a start and stop date like 2Do, but can also do some of the newer features like add a todo with Siri. Things 3 is working great! I can add a deadline for items that I can do in a week or month. I like how easy it is to move a todo item to the next day - So I only see what a truly plan to do today. And I that I can add a todo from my email or with Siri! I also like the Someday list that I look at when I have some spare time (or extra energy!)

You should give a preview or a free trial, because I would not have bought the app if I had been able to try it beforehand and that it wouldn’t work for me.

I love a good todo app, and what I always look for is one that carries my un-dones forward. Things3 does this, and so much more. A real bonus for me is the Project management aspect. My to-do can sprout baby to-dos underneath, so all the pieces of the work are organized and accessible in one view. And there is more to still discover.

I used Things as my do-everything app, from 2019 to 2025. I’m moving to Todoist because I need a bit more features / functions, but things is GREAT for 95% of people and I will sing its praises forever.

Have been using Things for years and liked it. However, just had the worst experience trying to move away from it due to switching to an android phone. While platforms like todoist give you the option to export tasks, Things doesn’t and makes it as hard as possible to move your data out of their system. They give you a database file where half of information is missing such as projects, recurring reminders, etc. In the end I spent days getting a spreadsheet of my information and had to manually go through hundreds of records to update them. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend them.
