My only reason for docking a star is that for some reason on iOS, you have to unlock the screen rotate of the phone to go full screen horizontal. My other streaming apps have figured out how to override this, so if you hit full screen with the vertical screen lock on, it will still play horizontal full screen. Because Acorn requires me to unlock the screen rotation, any little movement you might make as you hold the phone makes the screen rotate back again. Super annoying. Please fix this, Acorn!

I’ve had an Acorn subscription for a long time. Now I see two acorn tv icons on my screen. What is the difference? I can’t log into the green icon but can log into the other one. They are the same price. Which one is better for me?

I used to love Acorn but the last year or so there are not enough new shows. You keep posting old Staff favorites. I will drop it soon
  • No longer supports screen mirroring

I used to be able to stream from my iPhone to my tv via HDMI cord, but now I only get the audio with a black screen on the TV. After reading through other reviews, it seems that I am not the only reviewer to have this issue. Please fix asap!

Acorn seems to take a long time in between new programming. not much to view at times.
  • One of the worst apps on Apple TV

None of the shows on Acorn ever show up on Apple’s Up Next list. This is extremely inconvenient when watching something like Murdoch mysteries. If I want to watch the latest episode, I have to go in the Murdoch hone screen, and it always defaults to Season 1 Episode 1, then I have to scroll through the entire 17 seasons to get to the latest season, and if I scroll too fast it almost always goes to a black screen that won’t update. even if I select the Murdoch entry on the Acorn homepage where it clearly says Season 17 Episode 5, it always goes to S01E1. Unbelievable. I have dealt with Acorn technical service on this problem several times over the last several years, and always get stonewalled.
  • Add some content - this Acorn is not growing into anything!

For a streaming service to be useful, it needs to add content - Acorn adds new (or even old “new”) shows way too infrequently. Additionally, for a niche service appealing to UK interests, adding Australian TV shows is not helpful.
  • Great shows
