Description

High standards? Keep them that way. The League is a selective dating app offering its members a curated “Batch” of potentials each day, rather than an unlimited stream of profiles. Designed for motivated daters who would rather be single than settle, The League strongly believes that 3 quality matches are better than 100 bad ones. So say goodbye to endless swiping and keep those standards sky-high— because while your mother might call you picky, we call you self-aware. The League uses a waitlist and vetting system to ensure a well-balanced, highly engaged community of people with real motivation to find a meaningful long-term relationship. You can use The League for free or upgrade to a subscription to unlock additional benefits. Subscribers see more profiles each day, and thus, enjoy 40% more matches on average. Depending on what term you choose, your subscription will last for 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year and automatically renew at those intervals from the point of purchase onward. If you wish to cancel your subscription before it renews, you must do so at least 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at the confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and will be renewed at the same price the next term. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. • The app less used

I will say that this app has better quality prospects than I’ve seen on other dating apps. Unfortunately, I don’t think that there are many prospects in my immediate area (the city I’m designated for is almost 2 hours away, even though I reside <5 miles from an international airport ) which decreases the likelihood of a match actually happening or even meeting as a busy professional. I also have noticed that matches are waiting days to respond, or don’t respond at all. I suspect that there is greater activity on other apps that are more interesting to interact with and check. Also, concierge messages are one sided, generic, and don’t provide adequate insight or help - always a plug for upgrading services.

You wait in a ridiculously long queue only to be able to send a maximum of 3 likes a day starting at 5 pm. At least on other dating apps you get 25 free likes per day. No one replies. There’s no added benefits for people who make it in on merit alone. All extra benefits are hidden behind a paid membership for $100+ a weeks. The men on here are just as sleazy if not worse than men on other dating apps. The illusion of elitism crumbles when you actually access the dating pool and app itself and realize that every other dating app in the world is better than this piece of garbage.
  • Not Worth It Without Paying, maybe in general?

Free version of “The League” definitely isn’t worth it. Be ready to shovel out your cash if you want to see any matches. Here’s my experience: • Filtering Issues: The app doesn’t seem to respect the age range I set, which is important for women my age who still desire marriage or kids. • No Ethnicity Filter: This could matter for people with specific religious or cultural preferences. • Confusing Layout: The app’s design is not user-friendly. It’s a cool concept, but the navigation feels clunky and unclear. Maybe that’s another feature you’re supposed to pay for? • Low Engagement: There don’t seem to be many active members. You only get to view three people a day, and the limited filters make it hard to even come close to finding someone of interest. • Not Encouraging: Overall, my experience wasn’t enjoyable or motivating. It almost feels like the app’s message is: just go meet people in real life. Good idea in theory, but disappointing execution

Pretends to select people based on education. Not true.

There are definitely some quality candidates on this site, but you can’t directly speak to each other. I was very excited to join the league and wasn’t afraid to pay the several hundred dollars is cost me to do so. Unfortunately, the matches they send are mostly 300 miles away or more, and the site is unreasonably convoluted and difficult to use. Also, you have to pay extra for everything. It appears that for another $999 per month I could actually have access to more matches but after having already paid close to $500 for everything else, I am too disappointed to spend more money on this site.

lol needs a linkedin to sign up when this is only used for low level jobs and hardly used to advertise academic or Ms+ positions. Stupid app
  • Maybe I'm using it wrong??

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the app only shows me the same 3 men every single day. I "x" them as not interested, and the next day they are back again. I'm not interested!! I'm just not interested in men significantly older than myself, and I specified that, yet that is all I'm shown. For me, it's not working.

I never write reviews. I try to compliment when things are good but in this case, I’m just not enjoying this experience. Basically, this is just a very expensive platform of dating. So, if your fresh out of college, you probably can’t afford it. You need a plan to work the app. Otherwise, you are given a 3 options (at least for the ladies) - and that’s if you’re selected… whether that be interesting enough or cute enough or something enough… I was waitlisted for 12 hours. I was very surprised to have gotten in. But if you don’t, you can pay to “skip the line” and get an automatic yes into the university of The League (not actually a university but feels that way). I see that I have multiple people liking my profile, but they are blurred. On my iPhone, not in the app, I can see a small photo of the person, but when in the app, everything - including the count of people - is blurred. So, without paying $99 weekly, you won’t know who is limit you and what your options are. And everyday you get three tries… only three. It just seems like a weird game. I can’t message anyone. I don’t know how to. It’s not really very user friendly in that aspect for those without a subscription. Unfortunately, that’s not an option for me right now. Just found out I graduated early one week ago. I had zero clue. But I’m ready to move around and meet people but I don’t know who is liking my page… and I feel like I’m on a paid version of the Bachelor. But we will see… if they had trials to have use better understand the messaging and how it works - if the numbers below certain pages represent new likes or if that’s the total... But I’ll update this! I was going to give 2 stars, but I’ll give 3 because they quickly added me… but idk. It deserves 2. I have zero clue now this works.
  • This App is too selective best on job title/requirements

I was denied access (unless I paid the high membership fees) just because I don’t have a LinkedIn or a work email. I don’t have a office job, or a job that requires a email. For that reason alone they couldn’t identify me and I couldn’t join the community even though I was looking forward to having a dating site that wasn’t full of men wanting hookups. I almost feel like I was being judged based on my job because it wasn’t prestigious enough. Very disappointing. Would not recommend

I have made some lovely friends on this app. There’s no doubt that many of the men are “in my league.” 😄 My main problem has been proximity. My large Texas city just isn’t a hot spot for League membership. Still I love the long distance relationships I maintain on the League and have had several guys who have made it down to the south to meet. I know one day we’ll find each other!
