  • Needs iPad support

Work great on my iPhone, but as a trucker, i use my iPad for gps. I’m hoping that in the future iPad support comes. Update. When they make this an iPad supported app, I’ll start my subscription back up again. Until then, not using it. I’ll keep checking back.. Update 1/4/26. That routes are all messed up. I put a route from Ocala FL to Lincoln NE. The route wanted me to go up to Atlanta GA then head to Birmingham, AL then up to Nashville TN at this point the route was correct. It also wants me to drive through Atlanta instead of I-285 around Atlanta, which is the legal route. Yes, I’ve got the right settings for a commercial truck. It also wants to put you on every toll road as well even though the toll road and the main road run together which goes toll roads cannot take a truck because no trucks allowed in the toll road. your algorithm is really screwed up and I think you want me to pay for this and you won’t even give me the iPad version no. Update 3/11/26. And yet still no iPad support. You would think that it’s not the hard. As a trucker for over 38 years, I would love to hook you guys up for uses, but it seems you guys just don’t care. Well I’ll keep checking back, but I will not hold my breath.

Truck routing is not that great. It makes odd choices that don’t always make sense. it would also be nice to get route choices like copilot truck gps does, you get up to three routes when it calculates a route. But it’s mostly it’s questionable routing choices that made me not renew and stick with copilot.
  • Horrible App

I've honestly tried for almost 1 year, many times the app needs my assistance to find the correct address or place is ridiculous, today I tried to go to Kia Cowboy and the app asked me to get out 1 exit early to a VACANT LOT, thanks God I perfectly knew where the place is. I'm not renewing and uninstall the app. By the way You must download maps if you’re using it or the app doesn’t work. really a waste of time and money.
  • Colors all wrong on TomTom Go Expert App

Loved TomTom products for many years. Now using the TomTom Go Expert App - the colors of the streets blend into the background so it is very difficult to see them (light black on black for night and white on white for day). It would be so great to be able to choose other easier to see color schemes. If so then 5 out of 5 for my purposes.

8/18/2022. The android version tells when you will arrived at your destination. It also announces verbally any traffic delays out loud. Also the android version has colored background. The iOS version needs these features. 1 Cannot add waypoints from recent destinations or My Places 2 No turn by turn instructions. All navigation apps have that function. 2/6/2022 It would be nice if the app was full screen on the iPad. It is full screen on the iPhone but it’s not full screen on the iPad 4/1/2022 The android version of TomTom GO is a lot better than the iOS version of TomTom GO. For example if you select on avoid traffic. The android version Shows the difference times. Also. The exit signs are more lifelike. For example if you exit in on I 95. It shows the I 95 sign post symbol It also has things that can be displayed on the map the android version is a lot more than the tom-tom version. I wish time try and will update the iOS version 4/4/2022 also the lane guidance on the android version of TomTom GO is a lot better than iOS version. It actually shows you the lines to get in before you get to the lanes to exit. 12/20/2925. I recommend that the favorites that appear on the map should have their names beside them instead of their favorite star symbols.
  • TomTom GO isn’t Google Maps

I’ve seen too many reviews of people complaining that it’s not Google Maps or Waze. Then just use Google Maps and Waze, it’s not complicated. I use TomTom go for that reason alone. Waze is too much of a game, Google Maps is turning into Waze trying to navigate through neighborhoods to avoid a traffic light, and Apple Maps is getting better but it’s still not quite there. TomTom GO is a basic, simple navigation app and that’s exactly why it’s great. Just directs you where you need to go, the rest want to have a conversation with you “you could have taken this street but it’s closed so we’re navigating another way”. You have to download maps and while it takes a lot of time during set up because it can’t be skipped, it’s nice being able to navigate somewhere when you don’t have service because you forgot to download it before and didn’t know the signal would be so terrible. Please don’t change TomTom.

Tomtom is just not on the level of waze maps. Probably because the traffic is not as live and there aren’t as many users using tomtom as their are waze. I hate how you have to download the maps. I don’t have to do that on waze, google maps, or Apple Maps. Tomtom needs to do more to try to be #1. If tomtom wants to be the best maps they have to get a ahead. And to do that probably means creating new mapping technology before other mapping companies do. Good navigation but like I said I hate to have to download the maps. That takes up a lot of my phones storage! “In 2025, Google Maps remains the superior choice for most users due to its comprehensive features, extensive data, and real-time traffic information, while TomTom GO is a premium, paid app better suited for offline use with accurate speed camera alerts, though with more limited business data and less advanced re-routing than Google Maps. For users who primarily need reliable navigation and don't rely on public transport or extensive local search, TomTom GO is a strong contender, especially for long drives requiring downloaded maps and accurate speed camera warnings.”

I was hoping to find an alternative to the standard map apps, as I won’t use Google and Apple Maps has become progressively less usable (just try to navigate pins and saved places across platforms!), so I was willing to pay a well-known third party to try their navigation in CarPlay. Unfortunately this isn’t it. The maps seem ok, and the interface has some interesting elements - like a progress bar to your destination with distance to gas stations (although how often do you need that to be a permanent map element?) - but the voicing for turn by turn is atrocious compared to Siri and the Google voice. The “computer” voices that can announce street names talk in a stilted manner circa 2010 and even mispronounce simple common street names like “Whatever Ave” (“Whatever ayve”). There’s also no mention of live traffic rerouting, though I guess it’s possible it exists, and no browser or desktop-based companion. What I really want is simply to be able to create my own routes like you’ve been able to do forever using drag and drop in Google Maps desktop, then sync those specific routes to your phone. Oh well, back to Apple Maps I go, and hope that it can eventually clean up the pinned locations and sync the desktop and mobile apps properly. And, maybe, someday allow me to just make my own routes without clunky waypoints.
