  • Constantly Crashing

This app works well … when it works. Unfortunately there will be periods of weeks where the app crashes within 5 seconds of loading - nearly every time. It’s incredibly frustrating. Then it will be fine for a few weeks and the pattern will repeat again. I haven’t noticed a pattern that would tie these crashes to iOS updates - they seem random. Also the sleep notes function could be the best part of the app - allowing you to see if taking melatonin or reading a book or whatever helps your sleep. Unfortunately though you can only analyze by week, month, and current calendar year. This means that on Dec 1 you can only get data for one day using the “week”, one day using the “month”, or 11 months using the YTD. Not helpful if you’re trying new things to improve your sleep. They should just use the same basic pattern as stock market apps - week, rolling 30 days, rolling 90 days, etc. It seems so simple but would improve diagnostic function immensely.
  • Needs Apple Watch

After using the app for weeks I noticed that the sleep tracking has little relation to my actual sleep. Finally today, after noticing that it kept reporting hours of deep sleep, it tells me that it would be better with the Apple watch. That should be said upfront.
  • SaaS holes

This app is the kind of product you’d be embarrassed to sell if it existed in a physical storefront instead of hiding facelessly online. You are not allowed to interact with the app AT ALL without first enabling their free trial, and that makes sense because the app isn’t free. Everything about the app depends on the paid subscription, and apps such as this one shouldn’t be allowed in the free section of the App Store. It’s a deceptive practice that is indicative of trash people.

Both devices updated - however when time to go to sleep - both iPhone and watch say unable to connect (to each other). Unable to track. Unreliable.

Pillow does well detecting night sleep. Sometimes naps are not detected. Hints and education are spot on.

I have used Pillow for several years. Because it gives you detailed information about your sleep like time in each sleep state and heart info (HRV, rate, etc.), good habits are reinforced! Love the app!

Although I’m still learning the ins and outs of the app, I’m finding that it’s fairly intuitive. Overall the experience has been positive.
  • Stops Recording too early

I wake up at about 3:00 am. Then go back to sleep by 4:00 am. Sleep track only reports until 3:00 am. Can it be set to just show a pause and start recording again?
