Description

Yes. There's a better way to control your Sonos system. - Speeds up most common tasks (less taps) - Cleaner, more stable and fast interface. - Backward compatibility is king (we support Sonos S1 firmware and also iOS12 devices) - Manage zones and music sources. You control your Sonos. Not the other way around. See the features in action on YouTube (http://youtu.be/rvp4QinakL0) or read more below. This application is a third party app and not endorsed by or associated with Sonos, Inc. (which is why it is not free) ◆◆◆ A new, intuitive and concise user interface ◆◆◆ SonoPhone is designed to leverage the latest iOS design principles: - Tap or drag the player on the top and you'll find the players view to select a new player and with volume controls for all players. From here you can also enter Zone Management, where you can group and ungroup players with drag and drop. - Tap or drag the Track infos on the bottom and you'll be at the big covers screen - Drag the main menu from any place to the left or right to have instant access to playlist or shortcuts - volume + progress popups: when changing volume or progress of a song, you get popups telling you the actual values. Stop guessing your desired values today! ◆◆◆ less taps for common tasks ◆◆◆ SonoPad tries to optimize most often used tasks to have the least taps needed. In the end you are able to navigate and control your players much more fluently. - Touch To Play: are you sick of always beeing asked what to do when you tap a track or album? SonoPhone defaults to just starting an album or song. A long press still gives you access to all options - you can also change the tap default in the settings menu. Want to build a playlist fast? Just set the default to 'always add to end' and off you go ... - tap an album cover image and the whole album starts to play immediately - aggregated search: search results are collapsed into one view, so you see immediately in what category you have the best results, without switching back and forth - shortcuts to most used functions: drag the main menu to the right to get shortcut buttons for artist, albums, radio and musicservices. - you can control the volume of every player directly from the player selection screen. No need to switch players anymore. ◆◆◆ S1 and S2 devices in one app ◆◆◆◆ - If you still have old S1 devices, the time of always having to change apps is over. We simply display all existing players in the network in one list. Grouping is unfortunately not possible, this is prevented by Sonos. ◆◆◆ Limitations ◆◆◆ - all music services except YouTube Music are supported - no support for administrative features (adding/removing players, music service, ...). You need the official Apps for initial setup of your system, SonoPad will pick up all changes automatically. - no options to set alarms or sleep settings - no playing of music stored on iPhone - no support for discontinued WD100 dock ◆◆◆ Other stuff ◆◆◆ - Sonos is registered trademark of Sonos, Inc.

  • Sonos finally useable

The official Sonos application immediately crashes now on iOS, and was barely useable before back when it actually ran. I downloaded SonoPhone and can finally actually use my system again.
  • Sleep timer?

I only downloaded this just now for the sleep timer. I’d downloaded fast. Yippee! I don’t need to set up an account or anything fiddly to get it to work. Yip Yip. But no sleep timer when it’s such a common complaint of the new Sonos interface and (seemingly) easy to integrate? Waaaaah. Please add it. But huge thanks for your work here.

Barebones app, does the needful. This app installed quickly, and found my 16 sonos devices within about one second. No fluff, no extraneous stuff. Speakers, zones and groups, and media selection; all quick, simple and easy.
  • It works! Thank you for giving me my Sonos back again!

As other reviewers have posted, I’ve been so frustrated with Sonos and their disaster app “upgrade” from March 2024, that basically rendered my whole home system with multiple Sonos amps and speakers unusable (nothing kills the mood like a sudden change in volume or loss of sound altogether!). This app worked instantly! It recognized all my equipment and my music sources, I didn’t have to do anything. I have music again! THANK YOU!
  • My First App Review Ever!

I have been an IPhone user since 2008 (3G) and a Sonos user since late 2005. I have downloaded several hundred apps in that time and I have owned about 40 pieces of Sonos equipment (S1 and S2 combined). When Sonos forced their updated app on its users a few months ago I became one of the angry and frustrated customers who HATED Sonos for taking a perfectly fine app that worked and replacing it with an app that has far less functionality and only partially works. Then I was fortunate to find an alternative that works perfectly and restores the features that went away from the Sonos app a few months ago. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sonophone!! It now occupies the prominent space on my first page that the Sonos app occupied for nearly two decades. And that is not going to change even if and when Sonos fixes their horrible app. So my first app review is now in the history books. 😃
  • SonoPhone Resurrected My Sonos System!

The SonoPhone app is incredible and everything the Sonos 2 app should be and is not. The simple interface is what I like the best. It also does not make my music lag and disappear like the Sonos app does. You hit a home run! A thankful SonoPhone App user.
  • Sonos should buy them, this app is a life saver

As with the vast majority of people who have invested a large sum of money into a Sonos system, when Sonos upgraded their app a while back, it was such a massive failure that I couldn’t even use my system. I spent countless hours trying to reboot and perform diagnostics and then wait for customer service to no avail. I was online reading through the long winded rants from countless other Sonos customers like myself when I stumbled across an article that lead me to this app. I had very low expectations for this app, but I was desperate. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it functions a million times better than the actual Sonos app. Total life saver. I can spend time listening to my music vs rebooting and sitting on the phone with Sonos tech support as they guide me through the same useless steps over and over!
  • Bravo for doing what Sonos can’t/refuses to do

This app just works. It’s a bit old-school UX-wise, but I hear there’s some improvements on the way. And to the dev - love the screenshot & line about “you control your sonos, not the other way around” - touché!

You did what the entire Sonos Corporation had me thinking was IMPOSSIBLE! You gave me a way to control my Sonos System without having an aneurism every 5 minutes! Thank you! I sometimes compare this app to controlling my music on the Sonos app and I laugh so hard. While the Sonos app is still displaying a song that played 20 minutes ago and is basically useless, SonoPhone is effortlessly displaying the correct song, is loaded to the correct part of the song that is playing, and allows me to change the song if I want. If you told me 10 years ago that these basic features are things I would one day pray for, I’d be flabbergasted but here we are. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the ability to still use my Sonos system in my house that I’ve had for 15+ years. I do not exaggerate when I say - I thought I was going to have to sell/ donate my system. It’s been almost 5 months and the Sonos app still hardly functions. Thank you a million times over!! Best $2.99 I have ever spent in my entire life.

I went from Xfinity to GloFiber network. The Sonos app found none of my devices. It told me I needed to factory reset every device. I was frustrated. Found some great comments about this app and purchased it. Opened it and everything was there with zero issues. Thank you!!!
