This is my go to application for all information I want to keep. It has proven to be reliable, efficient and comprehensive.

Microsoft really suffers if you ever change identities when using their subscriptions. They leave remnants everywhere and make it very difficult to move your notes. The data is right there but it won't let you move it because it wants to run a sync but then tells you the sync failed. Then they try to do different things if its a business or personal subscription. All of this to add that they give no cleanup of this. If they could fix this it could be a good product but they don't put the effort there any self-help articles reference old processes that are not there in current products. They keep asking me to provide reviews so here is my review again, but I doubt it will be fixed. Also if you try to hook any meeting note taking tool to OneNote to put in data it requires admin rights instead of just the user’s rights of who owns it. It shouldn’t need the admin for the IT department to allow an individual user to have notes automatically imported to OneNote. I want to love this product but they just need to do better, especially for Mac users.
  • Sections across the TOP

I’ve used OneNote for a long time and I’m annoyed that the Mac version doesn’t have the ability to put Sections across the top (they are only in the left side). Although many people have been asking for this feature on so many different forums, it still hasn’t been added. One thing that has been added is a “pride” theme. Yippiee offer more useless features instead of actually listening to what the users have been asking for years.
  • Normally I love OneNote But …

Ever since the last update, I have to log into this app every time I use it, and never had to do that before. Also the check marks are so thin now you can barely tell them from the non-checked boxes.

I’ve been using this app for over six years. It’s more convenient than regular notes — you can create folders and sub-items. Highly recommend it to everyone!

It's like an extention of my brain. It's my journal, my note saver, my organizer, my right hand, my all office and academic..."I got your back" kind of thing.
  • Microsoft limits functionality

Overall, OneNote is good. However, throughout the M365 suite, Microsoft limits Mac functionality. For instance, last week Microsoft removed the ability to specify line / paragraph spacing in Outlook emails. OneNote has limited formatting on both WIN/Mac. It’s disappointing.

Would be better if users can open several tabs at the same time
  • I can’t believe it’s free!

Such a feature rich note-taking app and Microsoft has been generous enough to give it for free. I just wish there was an option to insert code blocks. Other than that, perfect note-taking app!
