I have used open snow for at least five years. Two years ago I upped my game and went with a paid subscription and love the extra features. We use it during the summer in planning our motorcycle trips.

By far the best app for tracking snow and weather for skiing. Super easy to navigate and very accurate.

Love smoke and active fire details. Weather forecasts are much more accurate than the Weather Channel forecasts.

Love the different maps, especially the forecast ones. Stable and never makes me watch ads. I even opted for the paid version so I can see all the maps, and they were super flexible and prompt in helping us switch to a group rate so our whole family can use the full-featured app.
  • Great mapping and weather information but not for Alaska

I really like all of the different layers that can be added to the mapping but I live in Alaska which is unfortunately not covered by very many of them. I think I would be able to utilize much more if it was expanded to Alaska. Other than that the mapping is good and the offline is great.

It was worth it when it was just ski/snow forecasting and now it’s the most robust, complete weather app available. The only one you need!

Although the forecasting for snow is top-notch, it’s great for all seasons. My favorite feature is the 10 day forecast which shows all models, along with OpenSnow’s best estimate. I work at a ski resort, and OpenSnow is the information I use first, even before coffee at 5 AM.
