Vibecode - AI App Builder

I’m an actual app developer and downloaded this out of curiosity. The onboarding is very slick and polished and leads to the review prompt right away which isn’t surprising. I was pleasantly surprised it created what it did but we should call this what it is. It’s just convincing enough so that someone who thinks they have a great idea for an app can create one. It gives the illusion that it’s capable of doing that and then prompts them for $20/month. Nothing that this thing generates will scale but that’s not the point. They aren’t targeting actual developers. They’re targeting people that want to say they’ve “built an app” without knowing what an API is or how to handle auth or any number of other things. I was kind of surprised the app it created seemed to actually be calling some AI model. Again, no clue what these “devs” would do when they learn AI calls aren’t free and they need a developer account at OpenAI and their own api keys and stuff. But none of this is even intended to get to that point. It’s meant to look convincing enough so that aspiring devs part with $20 before they realize there isn’t a magic fix for a complete lack of development experience.

This app is true to its claim for making your dream app in just a few minutes. Start to finish was just over 8 minutes. It was fun and easy.

Because concept but the app is to buggy to do anything serious with it. The credit goes down faster than morning coffee.

New to App creation and this is a great must have tool

What I love about this app the most is just how easy it is to use and how helpful and friendly the entire team is. I don’t think people understand just how insane it is that you can have an app on your phone that will build other mobile apps to go on your phone. Oh, and you can also submit them to the App Store.

The app is not user friendly. Every button you push to learn how to use it the application it will charge your credits. Not even setup is included

I know very little about making an app but feel like this app was able to assist my creative process in generating the app I was designing in my head and all in a matter of hours not weeks.

This app is VERY impressive! It's super convenient and satisfying to just grab your phone, open the app, and tell your AI agent what you need the moment an idea hits you, and have it implemented and tested in minutes. If done right, I think it will be an absolute game changer. As of now, although I haven't tested the new update and web version, it does need fleshed out a bit more. There needs to be more education since it's catering to those, like myself, that aren't coders and therefore likely know very little about the app building/ publishing/ launching process. I've already built an entire app myself and have almost all of the features that I wanted. If you have an idea for an app, but are clueless when it comes to coding, don't sleep on this!

This app poses significant risks when it comes to developing functionalities where security is paramount. While it is useful for prototyping and getting your ideas out quickly, production-level software engineering support is necessary to review and ensure the quality of code in these projects.
