  • Very disappointing

I’ve been using the draft kit since 2013. Despite the negative reviews I decided to give the next gen kit a chance, opting for the 6 month subscription, hoping to gain access to functionality from the previous iteration that doesn’t appear in the current “free” version. Unfortunately, based on my experience after two weeks, I’m pretty confident that most users of the previous draft kit will be disappointed. If you haven’t used the previous kit, this may work for you, but even then there are shortcomings. The way they’ve monetized functionality and content, while not unlike many in this space, adds another element to consider relative to if one is getting a value or return on their investment. In general, the app’s functionality feels incomplete and disjointed, with key elements needlessly segregated from each other. There’s a push to use the website but it’s not particularly intuitive on mobile/tablet and suffers from many of the app’s shortcomings. Besides features and functionality missing from the previous kit, there are just a lot clicks needed to do basic things. The appeal of this version appears to be based on the Asst GM feature with some rudimentary predictive elements and then a cloud based platform allowing you to pick up progress and settings across devices. There’s also an aesthetic update. These are all fine a good, but for me, they don’t make up for what’s missing. Besides simple things like player heights and weights missing, the categories available to customize scoring have been paired back, there’s no simple way to do tiering, one can’t save or “follow” players or change keepers on the fly, accessing depth charts and player profiles is difficult depending upon where in the platform one is, they removed the estimated record and team grading table that could be used to evaluate drafts once completed, and much more (or less). If you sync a league and go into to check/confirm settings, there’s a good chance other settings will be undone…and then redone…and undone again. Additionally, it’s very difficult to identify what data is being used for rankings, projections and cheat sheets across the multiple tabs/pages and particularly, and most alarmingly, once in a draft (are you viewing your league’s scoring or other rankings basis???). Most articles and related content so far has also been lackluster, though that certainly is subjective. I never used the previous kits to decide between picking a Chase or Robinson in rd1, I’ve used them to make picks in the mid to late rounds based on rankings optimized for my league’s scoring and settings. Irrespective of the disappointing user experience, I don’t have confidence that this iteration of the kit is providing the quality output and insights I’ve experienced in the past and continue to expect. In fairness, RW customer service has always been very good and that doesn’t seem to have changed. Unfortunately, unless a major overhaul is done, it’s difficult to imagine using this app again next year.
  • AFC/NFC Only options?!

As others have said, this is more expensive with less features. My leagues do not assign keepers to a round, so that option isn’t possible. Also, I’m in a league where we each own an AFC and NFC only team, and there’s no way to sort the rankings with these available players (Like the previous version did). What a huge step back. I’m done with rotowire.

This app/sub has everything I need this season. Also the mock drafts are addictive.

I’m loving the organization and setup of the app. The ability to plan out my drafts (even down to certain rounds) really helps filter out noise and stick to a strategy. The ability to see who is most likely to be taken before my next pick lets me know which players I can wait on, too. Drafting on a short clock can be stressful, but planning with the app ensures I get the players I want and helps me put together the best team possible.

I been purchasing your app for a few years and love it. Used app for football and baseball. Now price has increase and for my opinion for less. Not easy to navigate. No cheat sheet unless your in a draft. Was easy to compare top players because stats were under there name. Now have to click on each player to view stats. Not easy when on the clock. The app has a 2.5 rating and for good reason. If app changes for baseball I’m completely done using this app. Thanks for the help in previous years. You got my money this year but not again. Don’t recommend

Very disappointing. Used to look forward to using roto app every year to mock draft. New changes are awful AND more expensive. Who decided this?? Won’t be using ever again unless they go back to the old way. It looks “flashier “ but has way fewer features and way more annoying of an interface.

This app is crazy cool. The new my leagues feature gives me awesome insight about my team. Also, I can get notifications about recent news for my players! Definitely a game changer! 👀

Why on earth would Rotowire change their platform to this unusable trash? I was an annual subscriber for fantasy football for many years, and they have lost me forever. Don’t fall for it!
