  • Inaccurate and Boring

This app does not scan food accurately, I very carefully weighed and measured my food and then scanned it and it was 600 calories under… there are also no features with premium that are worth paying for. I applied for a refund and didn’t get it.

It’s okay. My biggest issue with this app is that it rarely calculates anything accurately. I have to edit almost everything that I scan which is inconvenient.
  • Great app, needs a few more features

Love this app, makes taking macros really easy. I wish I could duplicate or favorite meals - I eat the same breakfast every day so I’d love to just recreate an entry rather than having to enter it again every time. Also would love to see a monthly view of my stats rather than just week to week
  • Pretty good BUT

Even with some of the inaccurate tracking, it is still easier to change than using My Fitness Pal (imo). I like it BUT would you please add a way to add exercise? Also! Would love it if the raccoon were truly a virtual pet. That would be highly motivating. Thanks!
  • Helpful but Inconsistent

I’m still using this app because I do feel that tracking what I’m eating is helping me out. However, the AI calorie calculator is wildly inconsistent. I eat the same breakfast every week day. Despite tracking the same food, wording and measuring the various ingredients the same way, the app seems to just guess how many calories are in it. It will sometimes say that this meal is 250 calories, and sometimes say that the same meal with the same measurements and ingredients is 750 calories. Just be aware as you’re entering things.
  • Basic calorie tracking

This is fine for basic calorie tracking, but it doesn’t live up to the advertised features. I got frustrated with the inaccuracy of the AI photo feature (sometimes it would guess the food wrong, sometimes it would be way off on the calories) to the point that I just manually log all my calories, and it doesn’t give a score for manual entries.

  • Missing one main thing

I love the little raccoon, I love that I can take photos of my food BUT there’s no way to incorporate workouts/steps. Being able to adjust the calories left based on calories lost that day is the only thing stopping me from purchasing a sub. It would also be cool to have a widget for the app as well but it’s the lack of workout integration for me.
  • Great Potential, Needs a lot of work

Bite Pal has a lot of potential, but a few key things are holding it back. Logging meals can be confusing, especially if you want to break down different parts of a meal—right now, everything has to be entered separately if you add food by using the label feature, and once it’s logged, there’s no way to edit them together as one meal. The label photo feature is convenient in theory, but it doesn’t always translate accurately, so you’ll need to double-check your entries. The app gives you a daily average score, which is great for quick feedback, but it doesn’t explain why you got that score or what specifically brought it up or down. You just have to assume it’s based off your balance of micros. There’s also a “pal” feature, but it’s not interactive beyond letting you change the background or app icon. It would be amazing if they adopted incentive-style features like the Finch app—earning points for meeting fiber or calorie goals and using those points to decorate your pal’s space or unlock cute outfits. It would also be helpful if the app connected with Apple Health to account for workouts and calories burned, and more examples of healthy swaps or substitutions would go a long way in supporting behavior change. Right now, it’s a solid concept with a lot of room to grow. A little more personalization, interactivity, and clarity would make this an incredible tool.
  • Good but had to pay twice…

I like the concept of this app and its usefulness is good however, I had to pay a fee to make a plan and then use it and then kept getting prompted to pay an additional fee for premium too.
