    Five minutes into using the first test estimate, a very quickly realize that the results are extremely inaccurate. For example: for building a deck, a called for 2 x 4 blocking and 2x6 rim joist. The nominal depth of each of those should match the floor joist nominal depth.. it also called for 2 x 6 to make staircase stringers. It also overestimated the floor joist by about 25% and linked me to a Lowe’s pricing of $1.50 a linear foot. Then when I checked Lowe’s, it’s closer to $2.67 a linear foot. Those are the first mistakes that jumped out at me right away, so I’m sure there would be more if I decide to spend more time on it. I only gave a two star because if you do your homework and you have a lot of patience, you can update all the right numbers in the system. So it’s like a good template, but need you to give it a lot of input.

    I used to spend hours writing estimates when I worked for another company and now I’ve started my own and I started looking into AI tools and I downloaded a Handoff. I know this review is gonna sound completely like an infomercial, but it is actually fun to write estimates now. I just linked Handoff with QuickBooks and I set it up so I can send invoices directly to my clients and it’s been an amazing way to invoice. I now mark myself as being able to provide estimate estimates within 24 hours of looking at jobs. It’s also helped make me thousands of dollars already from the items I would’ve overlooked over the past couple months.

    Love this platform, although I only have a limited need for it as a part time Industry Expert for Calif. Contractors License Board, it does what I need quickly, accurately and with the ease of modern AI natural language prompts.

    I entered my business’s phone number onto this registration, and they would not leave me the heck alone. That number is dedicated purely to customers and so I answer it on a consistent basis. I’ll be honest one of the worst sales tactics I’ve ever seen. I’m a busy man. I do not have time to sit here and chat!!!!!. Not to mention their estimation software is so far off I would’ve lost $10,000 in 1 job alone!!. Terrible software I gave it a simple task to generate an estimate for a general contracted 1500 ft.² house. And tested it on previously done projects because I know the entirety of the scope I’m able to tell it exactly how much work it actually is and so I told it that and it was off by approximately 25% low!!!! they say AI is the future of our industry, but clearly they don’t have any idea how to program true national averages

    Handoff construction estimator has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business. I really struggled with getting this estimates done and sent out on time, and this app has really cut my estimating time by about 70%. It lets me get the estimate to customers faster and makes everything very clear. The scope expectations, approvals and signatures are all straightforward. The app itself is phenomenal but what really sets handoff apart is the support team. Sophia and her team have been incredible. I’m not sure if she’s officially assigned to me, but she’s the person I work with every time, and she’s hands-down the most helpful support person I’ve ever dealt with. Honestly, without the level of support you provide, the app would be good, but with this team, it’s exceptional. Keep doing what you’re doing the Support makes all the difference Sophia you’re the best.

    I have been soo very happy with this app, and the fact that the owner/creator of this app has shown nothing but respect and care for the people who are using their app. Anyways, my husband and I work on home remodeling, and this app has been perfect for creating estimates and projects. Perfect organization of your jobs and estimate. The AI is perfect for creating your estimates, and proposals! Many different tools and options. I definitely recommend for any one who’s self employed and in the construction business, or businesses. You won’t regret it! Thank you! To the Handoff business!!
