    Really excited at the ease of use and Course Preview feature with strokes gained detail incorporated into Targets and tracking. Definitely going to help my course management and hopefully help me shoot lower!

  • Doesn’t work 30% of time

    This app actually changed the way I golf forever, at first. I’m a premium member—however I’ve grown to a point of frustration and haven’t used the app for 2 straight rounds now. The reason why? The dang thing will not load properly…. Half the time I’ll open it and it tells me to “Subscribe for premium features”… which I already have. The other half the time, the GPS will not track properly and will show the hole in an obscure orientation that doesn’t match reality. Very very glitchy…and honestly I’ve been frustrated with the app enough times to feel like I want a refund for my premium membership.

    Reviews are most likely employees, try to delete and it says error , so I’m sure the fact you have to sign up before they hit you with a $100 price tag then can’t delete assures it 100% intentionally set up this way to scam data…

    Really like this and usually refer to when playing, but mostly do after round entry. Can you guys add the ability to save Driving Targets for course you play often? Entry would Be much easier if my driving targets were already set.

    I’m a paid user of the app. The ability to preview rounds and easily select targets and choose clubs is awesome. By itself, that makes the app worth having. But I got a paid sub so that I could enter my rounds and track my strokes gained. I waited until the GPS tracking was available, as I didn’t want to manually record everything (which the app DOES make quite easy, btw). The live round entry is a nightmare due to the existing bugs. For example, after tracking the first shot, when I change the flag position (once I’m close enough to actually see the green), sometimes the option to track shot #2 disappears. So I have to exit my round and come back to edit an existing round. That wouldn’t be a deal breaker except that occasionally, ~HALF OF THE SHOTS I PREVIOUSLY ENTERED HAVE NOW DISAPPEARED. Gone. As in, I’ll have gotten a par, but now shots 2 and 4 are just gone, while the app still shows shots 1 and 3, and has marked me down for an eagle. This has happened repeatedly, including AFTER finalizing a round and going back to edit a single hole. This is extremely frustrating, and for me, makes the app unusable for live round entry. There are other smaller bugs as well, but nothing near as bad as just losing/deleting shot data randomly. I’m a technical PM so I’m familiar with the challenges of building software and handling non-happy path edge cases, but these are critical failures. This app simply needs more testing (and subsequent bug fixes) before it’s ready for primetime. It’s capable of being quite good.

    Ive been grinding hard on my handicap for the last couple years. Im even documenting my journey on YouTube (@thescratchplan) I’ve used 18birdies for years and tried several other apps. I discovered shot pattern a couple weeks ago and WOW! Every shot I step up to when I’m using this app feels so much easier and I have so much more confidence that I’m going to get a good result. For anybody who likes to put the numbers in their favor on the golf course, this is the way to do it. Wish I would’ve discovered this long ago.

    Maybe I missed it in the setting but I don’t like moving my finger left and the screen move to the right. At my home course, #2 has woods I can reach with a driver, and I alway lay up to prevent rolling into OB. The app still showed driving into the woods as a positive strokes gained decision. That made me question using it during a round.

    I drive 280-300 yards and hit 10-11 fairways. But my GIR stinks at 4-7 per round. Your set up doesn’t fit my game…. So i deleted it while setting up

    And it is flawless! Already giving it 5 stars, but I would really like to see a “freeze dispersion” feature or something similar so you can pick your target, freeze the target line in place, then scroll back towards the tee to see if that line has anything (e.g. trees) interfering with it. Also would love to see a compass on the interface so if you’re scouting a course beforehand, you know which way holes are facing to consider the wind. Other than that, it’s really a great app.
