I love this app for finding references and tagging scripture but the Memory feature does not work as described. Ive double tapped on several verses and have never seen the option to add a verse to the memory portion of the app. This function needs redevelopment.

This is my favorite Bible app. It is so helpful to have the ability to select a book, and see what every chapter is called, making easier to find specific topics or events. This is where e-Sword is unique in my experience. The app and online has every single resource available: devotional, lexicon, commentary, entire books from the old church fathers to newer humble children of God, like A W Tozer, and cool feature that selects a random verse….theres more tools. You get about 98% of all the tools for free and ZERO adds btw!! But, you can pay a one-time fee of $4.99 to download rarer items( more bibles, commentary) because they have a license agreement( I think for copyright purposes from 3 rd party…something like that)

I’ve been using this app and other E-Sword resources since shortly after their creation by Rick, and I’ve shared them with many others over the years. I even added a link to it on our website so that people from around the world could easily access and download this powerful tool. It’s been a tremendous blessing in my life for many years. In my opinion, you won’t be disappointed by the quality content and the spiritual value it brings—not only to its continued success but to yours as well. Thank you, and may you be blessed. Shalom.

For some reason on both the iPhone and iPad it will open to a blank white screen.

I really feel like this is more robust and has great value. Only thing I wish was different is that it would sync across multiple devices.
  • Auto locking even after update.

I love this app. But, I am still having issues with it not preventing auto lock. I use it in church services and while I am listening to the sermon, the screen goes off. This update was supposed to fix that, but it hasn’t. One other thing I would like to see is the verse picker to be larger. But the auto lock is keeps me from using it for services.
  • I’ve been using e-sword for 20 years. It’s an excellent resource and it’s constantly improving.

  • Frustrating to Use for Scripture Memory

I like using e-Sword LT for reading and studying the Bible, but adding a verse to memory is way more difficult than it should be. When I tap or hold on a verse—expecting an easy way to mark it for memorization—I usually only get options like Copy, Highlight, Bookmark, and Note. The “memory” option, if it exists, rarely shows up, and there’s no clear guidance on how to access or use it consistently. For an app so rich in features, it’s disappointing that something as essential as verse memorization is either missing or buried. Please improve this feature—either make the memory option easy to find, or add a dedicated memory system.
