I'd give 5 stars if... 1) resize* the canvas (larger and smaller) 2) better manual 3) the default pixels/inch is too low *I was looking for an MS Paint equivalent with Apple smoothness.
  • Unresolvable loop when original file is trashed.

I edited a picture and exported it to PNG. I trashed the original picture file before closing out the Paint Pro window. Paint Pro would not allow closing the window when the original file wasn't available or I didn't want to save the contents of the window. Force Quit was the only way out. Need a more graceful option to not save and close a window when the original file has been trashed. Also need a way to skew an object to simulate a perspective change. Each of the four corners of an object need to be able to be repositioned independently.
  • Update fails on Yosemite

For some reason once I updated this on my Mac still running Yosemite (OS 10.10.5) which it is supposed to be compatible with, it turned out it is not now compatible at all. I couldn’t open it and lost all my stored data on it. I still use Yosemite on one of my macs so I can run my 32 bit apps when needed, which is most of the time. As I had the previous version on my back up drive, I deleted this update and reinstalled the previous version which works just fine. The deveoper needs to correct this on an additional update asap. This update works ok on Catalina and probably later. Apple needs to also ensure that backward compatibility is achievable in their Mac OS updates. I’m about to go back to Windows on my next purchase. They really are missing Steve Jobs now … just like the last time they were about to crash as a company. It took longer than expected this time.

I am a long-time user of Photoshop and so was a little wary. In a word, Paint Pro provides most of Photoshop's professional functionality at a tiny fraction of the cost. East to learn, with good support for levels, and a decent roster of tools. I am pleased. Recommended without reservation.

I am coming from MS paint on a PC to Mac. i was disapointed to find out that Mac has no paint equivalent - that you have to use a 3rd party program for this ability. I really liked the simplicity of paint. Paint Pro took some getting used to. there is a lot more capibility with it, i love the transparencies that paint doesn't have. i now give this 5/5 stars, couldn't live without it. and PC now has 3D paint which is worse than the MS paint i was used to. essential program - great for converting to and from pdf as well!

I haven't gotten played in a long time so I guess my time was due. This tool is very much useless. If you want something to just draw over current images then this is the ticket for you. As far as editing photos, replacing texts, images, etc., it does not do anything as advertised. Wasted $15 on this one and took me a total of 5 minutes to realize it. Stay way.
  • Paint Pro is junkware - don’t waste your money

Interface is awful. Tools are inaccurate. Cut and paste and Drag and drop are clumsy to use.
  • Much needed app

When Apple dropped their version of Paint, it took a while for someone to come along with an app that was just as good. This is it. It is not photoshop but it is great for simple graphics and paint like features like color changes to a logo. We use it all the time to update our t-shirt designs for cooltoys.tv and early bum t-shirts. Perfect tool for the job!
