  • Questionable Directions

    Never has been able to navigate me a direct route home. It takes me a round about way. Because of that I don’t trust it to navigate me anywhere. It’s a shame because I love the interface.

  • Never ending subscription upgrade notifications

    I purchased Premium. That should be the top, right. Wrong. Now it is Premium +, tomorrow it will be Premium ++ and so on. Never ending. It would be nice to make the app more useful instead. I prefer to use a 12 years old app to the Sygic app because it has more features. Yes, it has outdated maps, but offers features like arrival time, elevation, speed etc ALL AT THE SAME TIME on the side of map display. Try to match that SYGIC, you had 12 years to do that.

    Plusses: Improved routing, significantly enhanced UI, good maps and features, and TomTom traffic. Update 2.25: New businesses within the past few months are being added at a higher rate. However, as mentioned below, old businesses that are long shuttered are still present. Moderate minuses: app in CarPlay not showing distance to traffic slow down like on app itself. time through slow down showing okay; route ribbon becomes small in certain circumstances making it hard to follow the route, especially in dark mode; traffic updates in my area of southern central US lag 1-2 min behind Google maps, Apple maps/TomTom Amigo (which like Sygic use TomTom traffic), which in rush hour can mean getting caught behind a backup. Huge Minus: •Very outdated POIs (Points of Interest): Both long shuttered businesses are still there and businesses open for many years are missing. For example, in my suburban area, ~10% of gas station POIs are incorrect. At this error rate, a city of 2 million, like mine, would have hundreds of errors across all points of interest (POI) categories, and I’ve seen many. Nationwide (US), this would amount to many thousands of errors and render the POI/refueling/ even the search features useless. Map providers are the only ones to address these inaccuracies, especially since free competitors like TomTom AmiGO, Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze have corrected similar issues and maintain much much lower error rates.

    Speed cameras are installed along my regular route, however, it is disappointing that Sygic does not offer notifications. In zones with a speed limit of 15 MPH, Sygic registers speeds of 50 MPH. Despite having a premium subscription and activating all necessary alerts, I am still not receiving any notifications.

    I have had three recent trips that I had to use another map service to get to the correct location. Texas is big, but come on!

    Sygic is an excellent map for navigation! It’s user friendly, and it’s better now than it has been. It’s been a while since we’ve had a road trip and had an opportunity to utilize it.

    Unless you can figure out by yourself how to use this the manual and videos are outdated and won’t help. I moved and try to update my new home address is impossible. Thinking about asking for help….no, that won’t work there’s no one to answer. The only word that describes this app is “GARBAGE”
