  • Terrible update

This greedy company has now changed their pricing model. I have been using this app for 10 years and paid over $1,300 in subscription fees over the past 10 years and now they have changed their model so I can only read 3 books a month and have to pay $17 for that service. After spending so much money on this company I expect better. Go to a library and save your money.

    Do not get.
  • Failure at every turn! World’s worst app.

I just wrote a super long review about what a joke this app is and my review was shredded upon submitting, never to be seen again. Too bad, it was really funny and now I harbor 10x the hatred toward this steaming pile of ish then when I started trying to review it.

I just got a new month or unlock or whatever they call it and I got “4 days” of the books I want and now I’m locked again till June!!!! I got “2 books” of the series Im listening to!! What?!?! Why not at least half a month?? But 4 days?!?!? I’m not happy at all!! Today I got a response from Everand!!! But it’s in a language I can’t read!
  • What Am I Paying For?

I’m paying for a subscription that lets me unlock one book a month, but if I cancel, I lose access to that book. That makes zero sense. At least with Audible, I keep my books. This app used to stand out because of the unlimited access, but with the new setup, there’s really no point in paying for both.
  • Better to go with a normal e-reader app

Was excited for this as I felt it would help me keep up with the habit of reading for a pretty good deal… the problem? When you unsubscribe you lose access to the books you unlocked while you were paying… Wouldn’t happen with an app like kindle or Apple Books. Once you pay they are yours. Maybe I failed to understand this on the front end, but either way seems like I sour deal and I’d rather get to keep the books I pay for.
  • Audible isn’t even this evil… They lock you out of your purchased books

I unsubscribed and now I’m locked out of books I paid for switching back to Audible… Audible isn’t even that evil…
  • Too many content limits

The app itself is fine, but I’m not a fan of the membership format. I signed up for a free trial but quickly discovered all the popular books I wanted to read weren’t available in my plan. Then halfway through the free trial, Everand cut off my access to EVERYTHING because apparently I reached some limit they had never informed me of. Paid plans allow you only a low number of “unlocks“ per month, so if you listen to one chapter and realize you don’t like the book, you’ve just wasted an “unlock.” Music and TV streaming services don’t limit how much you watch or listen to.
  • Not worth it

Y’all made a really poor choice to change your subscription model. Genuinely, it was just a monumentally stupid decision. I have used this program on and off since it first came out as a website called scribd, but I’m done with it now. It’s useless to me as another audible (and more expensive with less options at that!). I’m switching to kindle unlimited.

Like that you can choose three books a month for cheaper than one book a month on audible. However if you find a series you want usually a book is missing in that series on Everand which stinks. Also a lot of top authors are missing or their series are. I recently realized books I purchased were missing. Everard removed them and I just lost the books and the credits. Thankfully I realized it and they gave my credits back but another stinky thing on Everand. Hopefully they get more authors and more of those authors full series soon :)
