We frequently refer to the Top Stories part of the Register for the latest news.

The Des Moines Register covers important stories across the state of Iowa. Good news coverage has never been more important and the Register has been doing a good job in objectively reporting major news happenings. Obviously they have some good reporters and certainly some good editors who are working well together.

All I see on here is Iowa athletics I DO NOT READ the paper for Iowa athletics. I also am aware of the fact that Iowa is a very conservative state however I feel I see lately is pro-trump, and oppressive politicians. As a black Iowan I have to search hard for things that are important to me.

This new version is awful. I wishI had never changed. It is so hard to navigate and it is so touchy that it blanks out or changes to another page.

The old app was close to reading a physical paper but this app is terrible. Page is covered by control arrows and does not allow moving around the page to read on phone. Hate it. Bring back the old format.
  • Better than the paper

It is always good to remember national news and local news are not the same. By starting each day with the DM Register, I am reminded of all of the Iowa acts of kindness and forgiveness we are surrounded with each day.

This new app is terrible for reading the e-edition of the paper. It’s especially cumbersome and “twitchy” for someone with vision issues who needs to zoom the page to read.
