  • New app less readable

    After weeks of pop-up screen asking me to upgrade - and blocking access until hitting cancel - I finally upgraded and deleted the old app. Bad decision. I wish I still had the old version. New app has “useful” (not) menus at the side and bottom that shrink page view just enough to be annoying on my iPad Pro. And there’s no hide menu option. It is what it is. Um, thanks for that “upgrade”.

    I like the new format of the Coloradoan eNewspaper. Like the option of being able to get only the digital format of the Coloradoan as receiving the paper version on Wednesday’s and Sundays through the mail is very inconvenient. In addition lowering the price for only the digital version is a great option. It would be nice if the local grocery ads or links were were available with the digital version rather than having to go to there respective apps. Thanks, Ron Pantier

    I am old school and like the paper in a tradition format. This new formate is chaotic, random, and no apparent order or structure to the information. It is so bad I will most likely cancel my subscription unless there is an option to return to the traditional format.

    In landscape mode, Fit to page width, the “Next Page” button should go to top of page - not to same point as current page. Also button “margins” are very “tight” - too easy to accidentally select page article or item in sidebar.

    The Coloradoan is a garbage newspaper. They rarely report on any real news that happens in Fort Collins. And the app subscription is ridiculously expensive especially considering the quality of the reporting

    This newspaper tells local news for our community. We are 1 hour away from Denver so not everything that happens here is seen in the Denver news. I love knowing what happens locally.

  • Annoying full screen ads & random sign outs - mostly fixed

    Another Update - July ‘24 Still the annoying full page splash ads asking me to subscribe. It can’t be that hard to code the app to recognize that if someone is already logged in, they are ALREADY A SUBSCRIBER, and that making them look at and close a full page ad asking them to do something they have already done is annoying the first time and gets progressively more annoying with each subsequent ad. Just stop it already! Update - The app has been fixed so that it now recognizes me as a subscriber when I access a story from an email. The app has also quit randomly signing me out, so…Thanks! Now, if they would just do something about the frequent full page splash ads imploring me to subscribe, even though I have been a subscriber for decades. I updated the app recently at the urging of the Coloradoan, who said it would ‘improve security’. Instead, I now have an app that doesn’t recognize me as a subscriber. When I access a story by clicking on an email link, about 5 seconds after the story opens, I get a full page splash ad asking me to subscribe, even though I have been a subscriber for 30 years. The app will also randomly log me out, but I seem to get these ads whether I am logged in or out. When the splash ad requires that I re-enter user and password information, it also requires that I fill out multiple ‘I am not a robot’ click on the pictures, sometimes as many as 4 or 5. About all this update did was up the annoyance factor. With newspaper subscriptions falling, can the Coloradoan really afford to annoy long term subscribers? You really think they would FIX THE STUPID APP!!
