  • Getting Better

As the season is ready to get underway, I opened up my MiLB app again (first time since the end of last season). I was glad to see a lot of improvements. I really like the new “single sign on” feature allowing me to use my MLB app account credentials. Still a few things to improve: 1) PLEASE!!! Fix the rotation options. I use an iPad almost exclusively, and I have a keyboard case very much like a mini-laptop. I cannot view anything on the MiLB app in “normal” landscape mode. So I’m constantly having to keep my device turned sideways with the keyboard sticking out off to the side. 2) Still a lot of “embedded web pages” instead of just displaying the data within the app itself. Having to click on the “cookies preferences” (and “web browser things” like that) all the time is very annoying. Anyway… upgrading from 3 stars to 4 stars. Almost there. Play ball!!

They still haven’t fixed full screen viewing on iPad…until only 3 stars…fix that now and it changes to 5…why it doesn’t fill screen on an iPad is hard to understand…if anyone knows if I’m missing something on this please let me know…reps for mlb are clueless…iPhone doesn’t have this problem…
  • Loading…

No matter what, no matter when, this app will just load seemingly forever when trying to load the scores tab. When it does miraculously load, it’s a cool app but that happens seldom

No landscape on iPad, lol….. why is this so hard. Landscape….. been around for years. Maybe the minor leagues should hire a coder instead of their cousin.

I bought some tickets for a game and wanted to add them to my Apple wallet. To buy the tickets I have to sign into MLB. To access the tickets I need to download the mlb app and sign into MLB again. I then go to access my tickets on the app which takes me to a browser in the app where I need to sign in again and verify. There’s an add to Apple wallet button, click it, nothing. What’s the point.
  • Not practical

I bought tickets online for a game. It says I have to use this app to access my tickets. There is no tickets tab or go through the team tab like the FAQ says.

As a user of different sports apps, I’ve experienced the good if not great, the bad and the ugly. There are some things I like but room for major improvements. I want to follow minor league ball being the true baseball fan and prospect nerd that I can be at times. This app has all the potential, but you need to give it the love you do it’s big league brother. First, there are a couple of accessibility issues when it comes to editing your favorite team, as a user of iOS and Voiceover as a blind person, attempts to edit the favorite team or simply going to no favorite are proving to be fruitless, this must be fixed. I’d also from both an accessibility and basic user interface standpoint change the way you search for teams to follow. The only way I found useful that let me reasonably quickly find teams was to search by the name of their big league parent club, though Guardians turned up no search and I had to search on the term Cleveland. I’d have selections via a menu list of buttons where you could bring up a list of teams to follow and then execute the search, by MLB organization, minor league or classification level. As for the options when it comes to notifications, this needs major work. First give us control over what we want at the team level, game start, game end, score update and team news at minimum should be options provided rather than having an all or nothing setup for the team notification. At the league MILB news level, lets offer a bit more customization here too for that person who wants a nice 30 thousand foot view of what’s going on, be it news related to a specific organization, a specific minor league, specific classification or all the above. Like I said at the outset, treat this app the way you do its big league brother. Lastly, if you do make these adjustments I’m recommending, add a game status component to the game start feature for situations where a game is delayed or has been impacted by weather and has a resumption of play, again like you did with the MLB app. This app has all the potential in the world, so please don’t treat it like a used forgotten car, treat it just like the big league brother that is it’s baseball companion.

UPDATE! today, a really polite, calm MLB rep called me and led me through the process to fix my problem! of course the solution was the next thing I was going to try - totally delete app, reload. made me happy I’d have been able to fix the problem myself, BUT also that MLB was human enough to contact me and truly help. THANK YOU EMILIO/A @ MLB! PREVIOUSLY: I’ve enjoyed archived games for a long time… now suddenly, I’m told my “account isn’t entitled to view this content,” I’m told to “subscribe or update my account”. I don’t see anything wrong with my account. what’s up, guys?

This was a 5 star app in the past. However, now random ads pop up at random times. I’m looking through stats, and after a few minutes I start getting barraged with pop up videos every 10 seconds. I can understand the occasional ad, but not like this. It makes the app unusable because you literally can’t do anything but watch ads. That’s not the way to win users for your app. Please fix. Looking at other reviews makes me realize that fixing it isn’t going to happen. I’ll get a bot telling me to repeat myself to mlb. Oh well. It was a nice run Update: No change. Same nonsense. I’m thinking that this app is actually malware so I’m deleting it
