  • Costs money for my daughter to use her favorite drawing tool.

Costs money for my daughter to use her favorite drawing tool, what? Why does a free drawing app cost money to use more than the one tool they provide? $9.99 a week. That is nuts.
  • Love it! But…

I absolutely love this app and I use it a lot. But one time, I accidentally deleted one of my favorite journals. I tried everything but I couldn’t recover it. I wish there was a trash button where you can recover things you deleted. Really wish you could make that happen

$9.99 a month is way too expensive for a relatively basic drawing app.
  • I love it so much

I’ve tried giving this app a few attempts and each time I’m disappointed, it’s a cute idea and I love the thought of a digital notebook but all its features are too simple and any complex features are behind a super expensive pay wall. There’s no easy way to draw straight lines, change pen sensitivity, or even layer stuff consistently. You’d be better off learning procreate and making a custom template for notes.
  • Yet another subscription

Once free, I used this app all the time. I had a ton of art books. Once they went to subscription they erased all but one and now force you to pay to access old work.
  • That smudge stick!

As a children’s book illustrator, I’ve tried several drawing apps. Paper is by far my favorite. It’s all because of the smudge tool, which allows me to blend and make the subjects in my drawings come to life. I also thought it’s intuitive tool bars, which allowed me to learn quickly and become proficient.
