But buyers are very vulnerable to sellers on here. There’s no way to report them if the item doesn’t show up, and Etsy doesn’t really intervene. If you’re mistreated by a seller, the site doesn’t really help, it just redirects you to contact the seller, how may be hostile/defensive. “Report this shop” is not even an option unless you open the desktop version, and then there are pre-made options that don’t let you actually articulate the issue. You also can’t rate a seller’s customer service unless you actually receive the item, so if they’re being a jerk about an undelivered item, there’s no way to rate their terrible service or treatment. It’s all in the privacy of your messages. All of this is obviously so the metrics make it look like Etsy has a bunch of highly rated sellers to look like a safe, high-quality market, when it’s not. Just remember, you’re at the mercy of the seller, and Etsy won’t help you, especially if it’s after 90 days.
