  • Bring Back Window Grouping!

I’ve been using this app for years and it’s been good. HOWEVER, they’ve recently removed core functionality: the ability to group more than two texts next to each other in a unified window in order to compare Bible versions or other texts via “Window Grouping”. I relied on this basic functionality which is a staple in all serious Bible Study software. If they don’t bring it back, I won’t be able to recommend this app any more to serious students of the Bible. However, if you don’t need that feature and you’re happy to compare only two texts in the main window, then this app is good and easy to use in its other features. But rather than having the new features of videos and audio Bibles, I’d rather have the core Bible Study functionality back. If they reinstate that feature, I’d definitely give this software 5 stars for what it is. “For what it is” meaning, with window grouping, it has good functionality for more serious students of the Bible, who maybe don’t need all the other “fancy” stuff in other Bible software options. But without this feature, it’s difficult to recommend for serious study when comparing 3+ translations at once. You actually can do it, but it’s very clunky do to the separate window structures instead of a unified window, and you loose screen real-estate in the process. And if you do take the time to set up multiple windows the way you like it, you must quit the app a certain way to have it pop up next time; but if you don’t need all those texts on the screen all the time, they just get in the way. You can’t save the layouts, and you have to set up the workspace all over again if you close them. Please, Olive Tree, not only bring window grouping back, but allow us to save the layouts as well so we can recall the carefully setup window grouping, and have different sets for different purposes, rather than limiting us to one real workspace with only two panes in the window. Other than that, good software…

Great navigation, great study tools, and hands off between my MacBook and iPhone is great. So there’s no downtime when you’re trying to study. I wish I could give it 6 Stars.

I use this to supplement my devotionals and i love the reference hover feature where I can have access to text without having to navigate there. It makes studying easier and clearer.

I have both Logos and the Olive Tree program…both on all my Mac devices. I have enjoyed both products and have found them both very useful. However I find my self using the Olive Tree Bible Study app more because it is easier to use and more intuitive. Now it syncs with all my devices…I have an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone and when I type notes into my Mac it all syncs quickly and seamlessly. Searches are quicker on the Bible App than Logos. Both are fantastic resources however the Bible App allows quicker and more accurate searches. They have continued to improve an already great product. Thank you Olive Tree.

Can't do without this software. More intuitive than anything else I've tried, including Logos. Amazing mobile and iPad apps, too!

Not user friendly. How to get to commentary? How to get to dictionary. I see the bible but but nothing else. Everything is exspensive. Sorry
