I have a love/hate relationship with this app. There’s a lot of silly design implementations that are TBH questionable to least: for example, if I start a workout from a template and I don’t finish the entire workout, why is the option presented after ending to save what you did do OVER the template - mind you, it takes a lot of time to BUILD the template and seconds to destroy it because the way the optik is presented the overwrite is EMPHASIZED in a way that’s like a “cancel” button the only problem is if you go with that thinking and tap on it, it’s only then you learn you just destroyed the template you setup and there’s no easy or intuitive way to get it back. Secondly, I started a workout on my phone and ended it on the phone. Even though I didn’t touch Strong on the Watch apparently it never stopped running after the kat workout and so now it’s wrecked my workout history because it recorded a workout over 4,000 calories burned 480 minute etc etc. The problem this creates is even though I CANCELLED this workout it still exists in my Watch history even though the workout is no where to be found. Interestingly enough, I did a workout last night and cancelling this workout on the Watch didn’t impact that but there’s some serious implementation issues when you can have two different Strong sessions going on at the same time like this. And I’ve seen the pop up on the Watch that says if you start a session on the Watch it needs to be ended on the Watch but even that’s a cop out because if that’s a known issue then there should be a way or setting to auto end a workout (eg if it goes over X amount of time or whatever criteria that needs to be). Lastly, I take notes during my workouts like what my goals of focuses are going to be yet these notes aren’t shown when I start a new template unless I pin them which I only found out because I magically pinned one and didn’t even know how I did it. Again, this should be a toggle setting to retain notes across settings - if you’re taking time to write notes you likely want to reference these between workouts so why the optik is to lock them within a single session is beyond me. Things that are relevant during workouts like timer settings should be easily accessible on screen. Have you ever tried using your iPhone with gym gloves on - and if I have to keep taking them off and putting them on this becomes more annoying. There’s other ideas and suggestions I have but these are the most annoying ones so far.
  • Wouldn’t recommend if you just want a simple and easy layout. There’s better apps.

I would rate it two stars if it were free. My free app was way much smoother and easier to navigate. You can’t create a template with the name of your workouts you have to use the names created for them from the app.

I have tried MANY fitness apps. Been working out since high school and have had an iPhone since middle school— this is all to say: I’ve bouncing around app to app for 10+ years. Of dozens of tools I’ve tried, digital and analog, this app is the one that has worked for me. Other apps get too complicated whether it be the workout tutorials, stats, social aspect, etc. what I like about strong is that it keeps it simple. Unlike other apps, I actually review my stats in strong and use them week to week to help me get *stronger*.

Great app, one suggestion however. Can y’all add the feature where the Apple lock Screen can become your workout similar to how when in Apple Maps it swaps from ur Lock Screen to the road/map?

Great app but please PLEASE add the ability for Apple users to modify supersets without having to delete and start over just to add an exercise to a superset .
  • Started great, now it’s trash

Used to love this app, but it’s unusable now since it constantly deletes my saved templates and doesn’t allow me to have different goals for workouts on different days (bench press day for maxing and one for high reps)

  • Wishing better Apple watch integration

This is the awesome app! Can’t imagine working out without this app. One thing I desperately want the developers to improve is better Apple watch integration. Its connection is intermittently just dropped and never reconnected, and sync is lazy so I have to terminate the watch app and reload it before finishing the exercise. If these are fixed, this app would be the best!

Have been experiencing glitches and dropped templates for months. Apple Watch app barely works anymore. Was hoping for an update, but am canceling my subscription.
