3-21-26. 3-22-26 Revising. I had rated 1-star Terrible but am moving to 2-star for now. I have 3 criteria : I read on an 11 inch iPad, I read the e-paper only, I read OFFline only. The paper is still good for content & the overall look of the e-paper is good. I like that it still looks like a newspaper. It helps to think of the e-paper being a sub-app within an app. My main concern now is automatic whole paper OFFline downloading. I click on All Paper then download. I turn off WiFi & check—the download seems to be there. Problem: I close everything & 4 hours later go to read the e-paper over coffee but can’t. By quantity of material downloaded I can see the download is still there but I can’t log into the App to get to the OFFline downloading unless I log into WiFi which the coffee location does not have, which is my reason for an OFFline downloading in the first place. Log into WiFi & the App then close WiFiI still have to log back into WiFi to log into the e-paper to get to the OFFline e-paper download. With all this WiFi login why did I download an OFFline paper in the first place? I am still working to see if my aOFFline technique I not right. If I can’t download as an OFFline download without having to run back to WiFi it will be a deal breaker. The Gannett app could so I know it can bñ

Can this really work with journalism? Isn't the Fourth Estate supposed to be a critique of the ongoing conduct of government under democracy?
  • Glitches frequently

The app sign-in to the e-edition frequently glitches forcing a workaround that involves reading it on a browser on iPhone. Also, the section forward and backward buttons do not work properly. They only jump to end or beginning of paper. Time to update.

Before ownership change next day TV sports were provided. Also, you fail to show UT sports on ESPN + or SCAN +.

I dot like that sudoku and other puzzles cannot be easily printed. A screenshot must be taken and then printed. Regarding the paper version, please return to making the Sunday crossword to half a page versus to the new tinier version. As an older subscriber, which I’m sure most subscribers who get the paper version are, this is unacceptable.

Your reader is terrible. It often freezes and a restart takes you back to the front page. I often just give up.
  • Less functionality than prior to Herst

Can’t lunch directly into eNewspaper, eNewspaper doesn’t come up full screen, you have to expand, doesn’t have index but sections, only one page at a time or full to the start or end of paper, doesn’t remember where you left off if you leave paper and come back, can’t download and read offline, you must have an internet connection, advertisements hang the paper. None of this happened when the paper was owned by Gannet, real depredation of quality when the paper was sold to Herst.
  • Not User Friendly

Canceled my Year subscription in August but then I started seeing a monthly charge. I do NOT understand why whenever I was looking at my account I could not see an active subscription! Sleezy practice.
