  • Why charge for movies?

    I enjoy the shows on Rakuten but I dislike the fact that you guys are now charging a separate fee for movies even when they are old movies. Why do that to your loyal customers?

    I want to love this app because it has a lot of great content, including shows I used to be able to watch on other platforms that I want to see again. The problem is that it’s glitchy where ad content is concerned. I’m not objecting to the presence of the ads, I expect them with a free account. My complaint is performance related. I start to play a show, an ad screen loads and then freezes for a few minutes, finally sort of plays with an extended pause or two, moves on to the next ad which freezes indefinitely. On the rare occasion that I actually get to watch part of an episode ads will start playing their audio over the top of the show’s audio without actually displaying the ad. I’ve had to log in on the Viki website just to get through an episode. If I have to do that, what do I need the app for?

    I constantly get messages when I switch devices that I need to log out of a device to watch when I have already fully exited it on the previous device. It is extremely annoying. Also depending on what device I am on I can’t skip the opening/intro. I have to do the forward 10 seconds but even with that it doesn’t always work and have to do it 2 or 3 times before it will skip once. I’ve really liked the shows I have seen so far but not a fan of the app. Webpage does work better but I don’t want to always have to sit at desk to watch. I’ll use till my current month ends but after that I am unsure.

  • Great Asian Entertainment But It’s Been Glitchy For A While

    I’ve been using this app on phone since 2019-2023, it has always worked quite well, I’ve always enjoyed watching the series. Romance, costume + period, fantasy, drama, animation, adventure, music and action are of my favorite genres, favorite actors / actresses too. Since 2024 the app has been glitchy, there are bugs to fix in the app. I used the app on my tv, it was working fine for a short time but the screen started to freeze while watching dramas. My phone seems to be messing up a bit, it may be because of the app too. I might have to stop using the app, watch these series on other apps instead but it’s not going to be the same.

    I’ve been a long time user of this service. Since the last license renewal for the shows on the platform many i enjoyed are just gone and I understand but what they have done to the audio track for Running Man and the amount of editing to remove so much of show is very disappointing. I don’t think I’ll be renewing my subscription.

    I love this app I’m hardly on Netflix anymore since I signed up for this streaming services. The only problem is there is not enough dubbed shows or movies. I can’t multitask like I do with Netflix and Hulu. Please work on that.

    Viki needs to either remove the shows off their apps instead of showing 50% of it. The music doesn’t even play, they voiceover the actual music on the shows with something terrible and any videos or other clips that are show are blurred out. What’s the point, it’s a waste of money.
