Description

Jesus Calling is your yearlong guide to living a more peaceful life. The Jesus Calling App is the mobile version of the time-tested classic packed with digital and audio features that make this daily devotional more accessible than ever. Experience a deeper relationship with Jesus as you savor the presence of the One who understands you perfectly and loves you forever. With Scripture and personal reflections, New York Times bestselling author Sarah Young brings Jesus' message of peace—for today and every day. By spending time in the presence of the Savior with the much-loved devotions from Sarah Young, you will: • Feel comforted by a daily word of hope and encouragement • Be reassured of Jesus' unending blessings and love for you • Receive gentle guidance based on daily Scripture readings • Connect with Jesus further with reflection and meditation based on God’s Word Written as if Jesus Himself is speaking directly to you, Jesus Calling invites you to experience peace in the presence of the Savior who is always with you. These writings are personal reflections based on Jesus’ own words of hope, guidance, and peace within Scripture—penned by one who loved Him and revered His Word. The Bible is the only infallible, inerrant Word of God, and author Sarah Young kept her writings consistent with that unchanging standard during her lifetime. She wrote from the perspective of Jesus speaking, to help readers feel more personally connected with Him. So, the first person singular (“I,” “Me,” “My,” “Mine”) always refers to Christ; “you” refers to you, the reader. • Greedy

The devotional is great. I purchased this a few years back and continually purchase these books for friends. Now that they become greedy and want you to subscribe to a book I already purchased is absurd. The app STINKS! I am buying the the devotional on kindle and ditching the app. But I’m out the money I originally paid for my devotional.

I just switched to a new phone. I bought the original Jesus Calling readings. Now I ven after restoring purchases on the app, I’m locked out from all but a handle of sampler readings. I AM DONE WITH IT AND UNINSTALLING. Ever since they switched to a subscription model that’s when everything started failing and become more and more frustrated and disappointed. No longer my daily reading “just worked”. I had to jump through app navigation hoops to get to them plus most of the time it did not take me to the current day’s reading as it used to. I wish the developer had opted for a donation-based model. There are plenty of good Christians who I’m sure would have made it worked. Even have built-in fund raiser campaigns the way Wikipedia does it. But no such thinking.

Just sent yet another email giving details of being unable to use the expanded audio for the original Jesus Calling. I see yet another update issued a week ago, supposed to FIX this. I STILL CANNOT ACTIVATE THE EXPANDED AUDIOBOOK. I see I’m NOT alone.
  • App is buggy

Of course the content is great but app is buggy. When up open the app it’s basically on ten offers to buy ten books. Why can’t it just open to the book I own and the day I am on? And it constantly forgets I own it and I have to tap reauthorize purchase. And when it does work it puts me on Jan 1 no matter what day it is.

Really sad to see this move to a subscription model and now I can only view the items I set as favorites.
  • Locked me out of my paid subscription!

Since this app began offering a monthly subscription, this won’t consistently let me in to the content I paid for!!! It works for a couple of weeks and then I’m locked out again! It appears they are trying to force those of us who paid a one time fee to go to a monthly subscription by annoying us with intermittent service lapses. I would expect more from a company who sells Christian content. I wonder how Sarah Young would feel about this if she knew!!!
  • New update glitches are terrible

The new update does not take me to the current days reading. I have loved using this app for years but this update makes me go back to the actual book. I paid for the app and now I can’t use it anymore…everything is locked and I feel like I wasted my money…I should not have to pay again.

I purchased the Jesus calling app as well as the audiobook and now don't have access to either because of the monthly subscription. What gives?
  • Report this App to Apple

For all those who are having problems accessing their content — please consider reporting this app to Apple. This app has turned into a scam and they are making claims that aren’t true (e.g., that those who bought the app previously can access their content; that they have released a new version that fixes the problems). Scroll down to the bottom of the app page here in Apps and click Report A Problem. They need to be held accountable.

This is the second time in the past several months I’ve lost ability to open todays message (shows as locked). Last time when I sent an email, I heard back right away and it was resolved quickly. This time it’s been over a week with no response or resolution.
