That’s literally the number 1 reason I used to use Snapseed. Now that’s it’s gone I’ll probably just delete the app. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it yall!

I’ve been using this for a few years now and love it. However, I don’t like this new update (the layout doesn’t make it user-friendly at all). Also, there’s a bug, whenever you click on *look*, the app closes. Please fix this
  • Love it but not for faces

So me and my cousin use this for posting cakes on instagram, and I wanted to use it on a face but did not go well… 5 stars!
  • Fabulous free photo editing

This program serves both functional and artistic needs exceptionally well. It’s very accessible to the amateur photo editor, and has many wonderful features to experiment with. It’s become my standard, go-to program for all my editing needs.
  • New version is pretty, at the cost of personality and MORE importantly, FUNCTIONALITY

Hey, I’m a wedding photographer who finds themself editing large amounts of photos, but still personally edit each one using last edit. I loved the previous version, and this new one just isn’t it for my work. I always get asked as a photographer what editing software I use and I was proud to say that it was a free software, Snapseed, especially with the portrait tool. But with the removal of last edit in the previous version and removal of the blander, more “straight to the point” UI, it feels like it’s not better at anything versus competition… like it has no identity or specialties besides maybe the portrait tool… I had access to apples batch editing as well as other programs batch editing, and I still didn’t use them. I didn’t use them because the “Last edit” feature was just so perfect for doing personalized edits quickly, I would use last edit as a pallet to base things off, and tweak from there, and then in 20 photos or so, I would change the location in the shoot and need a whole new edit if something was slightly different(Maybe lighting etc.) last edit allowed me to make a nice base, and the UI was so easily tweakable for the specific photo in front of me WITH the added benefit of how easy it was to select the next photo quickly… (EDIT: they added a new quick selection for next photos that I like so I raised the stars, but it is a lil laggy, and while it might not sound like a lot of time to find my next photo, when I have well over a thousand photos to personally go through, it adds up). I feel like it’s just become apples photo editor, but worse, because it doesn’t even have batch editing… and even if it did, it still wouldn’t change that personal editing experience of tweaking every photo to my liking, quickly. I agree with other comments I have seen that liked a more classic, bare bones version like the older version. All this prettifying has, for some reason, come at the cost of functionality…
  • Used to be great, until the updated look.

This used to be one of my favorite editing apps, I’ve used for about 8 years. Then they completely redid the GUI and it not only looks terrible now, it’s very confusing. Bring back the classic look and function!

If you like the fact, that changes are being made, you should really love this. Otherwise, be prepared for changes that you may not enjoy.
  • Wish I had a time machine…

Don’t waste your time with Snapseed now; it was a solid gold 5-star review until the last update, but now the app is bloated with pointless animations and features that glitch and slow down your editing workflow. It’s almost unusable. Giving it 3 stars instead of 1 purely out of nostalgia for the way things used to be… 😢
