  • Scanning does not work on iPhone

Downloaded to take measurements and try some layouts for a bathroom remodel from my iPhone. Got a message saying that I need a device with a larger screen. Worthless for my needs. I’m on iPhone 14 Pro.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this app made me break my Magicplan is shockingly good! From the jump, it felt like I was wielding a futuristic room scanner. Just point your phone, tap a few corners and boom your space is mapped out like magic. It’s fast intuitive and honestly kind of fun. I wasn’t chasing laser level precision, just a solid visual of the space and it nailed it. The reporting tools? Took a minute to figure out what I actually wanted to generate, but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing. Now I’m cranking out floorplans like I’ve been doing it for years. I used the free version. I think you get two projects but after seeing what I can do, I’d happily pay if I needed floor plans regularly. If you’re a realtor contractor or just someone who needs a quick clean representation of a space, this is your secret weapon. Can’t speak to the accuracy, but I can’t stop raving about how simple and slick this app is. Magicplan doesn’t just map rooms. It makes you look like a pro doing it.

Wow. Like magic. Really awesome tool. I have not checked the accuracy but even if it is only a “rough estimate “ it is still a super fast and easy way to get a floor plan.
  • Limited objects, requires PC in addition to phone.

Very few basic objects to place in room on phone app. Must have PC available to create other objects. Within hours, the app created a copy of my first free project meaning that I now have two projects which is my limit. People with the free plan are unable to delete projects so here I am stuck with two of the same project and unable to open a second one.

I just spent 10 minutes scanning the whole room. It looked promising. It showed lines on the wall corners and ceiling. It detected doors and furniture. But then it didn’t save anything. And it shows 0 ft.². Terrible app it doesn’t work.

Lost my sketch that I worked on for hours and support will only contact you in 1 business day! I need it now. Waste of time. I’ll never use this!
  • Not intuitive. Couldn't figure it out

I downloaded this app specifically so that I could use the Magic Room scan and get the square footage of my room quickly. The signup process took me like 5 minutes. In that time period, I could have measured it myself. But, hey, it would be set up for the future, right? Once I got in, I didn't see anywhere where I could use a Magic Scan. I looked all around, I thought maybe I need to create a new project, maybe I need to upload photos first. Tried it all, couldn't figure it out. Went to the help center to try to see if it could tell me how I could make a Magic Scan. The only article it had was "How accurate is the Magic Scan?" Which told me it's this accurate. Not what I need to know, I need to know where to find it in the app. If your app is so complicated to use that you can't figure out how to use it in 10 minutes, it's not worth my time, so I deleted it. Won't be using again.

I have been trying to make a floor plan with a different app for days and only got a fuzzy drawing. I tried magic plan and had a sharp accurate floor plan in about 30 minutes. Wow.
