    Searching for actual pet friendly place is frustrating because many listings say “pet friendly” but that means only dogs. Clear filter for different animal types highly needed
  • coachella - host canceled my reservation

    The host of our Airbnb that was booked over a month ago, canceled our reservation last minute and reposted the listing at a much higher price. we were already locked in and ready to go to Coachella. We had flights booked and everything. I had in they friends flying in. They cannot cancel their flights anymore and we are assed out of a place to stay. Hosts and Owners should not be allowed to cancel on us just like that. over greed. That is very unfair and it is very bad business. Airbnb needs to hold them accountable and charge them penalty fees just like they charge us for canceling last minute. we lose our funds if we cancel. We don’t want Credit. We want a house to stay in. This is foul business. hosts should not be allowed to cancel on us once the deal is made.

    Airbnb is fine most of the time, but prices need to be more transparent. Hosts shouldn’t be allowed to tack on huge cleaning fees. It should all be bundled into one. 3 night stay but the fees are more than the 3 nights is ridiculous.

    I found an hotel and had the option to book directly through their website or through Airbnb. I decided to go with the latter so I would be covered under Airbnb’s policy. Unfortunately I ran into issues with the hotel regarding hygiene. The hotel was willing to g to cancel my reservation and issue refund, but they couldn’t do so because the booking was made through Airbnb. When I contacted Airbnb support they told me they couldn’t cancel reservation without host approval. In the end neither party was able to resolve my issue and they kept pointing fingers at each other. Honestly it would be much easier if I would book directly through hotel website.

    Spammed with marketing notifications even though I turned them all off. Booking experience is decent but i'm not going to book a $2k because you pinged me at 2:00am. Also I have no idea how to dismiss the notification badge I'm getting so I turned them off. Encrappification
  • Support Process Favors Hosts Over Guests

    Had a very frustrating experience with Airbnb support after being a user for 10years. The issue was not just about the property, but how the case was handled. The listing presented the space as “bright,” but in reality the unit was below ground level with windows opening into a window well, which significantly affects light and ventilation. More concerning was the resolution process. The review focused heavily on technical classification (whether it is officially a “basement”) rather than how the listing actually presents the living conditions and shapes guest expectations. Even more frustrating, our case was marked as “declined” and closed without us taking any action or being given a chance to respond. We had to follow up again just to get the case looked at. Overall, the process felt one-sided and not aligned with protecting guest experience. This experience reduced my confidence in Airbnb’s ability to fairly handle disputes between guests and hosts.

    As the title states, this has been a terrible customer service experience. I booked a location and attempted to cancel within 30 minutes of booking and was no issued a full refund. I contacted customer service and they were useless and provided no help to the issue. They repeated mention that I needed to contact the host but the host had blocked me from messaging and then went on to say they couldn’t not contact the host. What type of service is that. I will never be using this terrible platform ever again.
