Ads have made this app unusable. The ads do not close after you search for definition. Guess you have to pay for any kind of usability

On my iPhone I have about 3-4 screen pages of apps; including the usual apps (phone, messages, emails, utilities, etc.). The Merriam-Webster app is the one app I could not live without. I use it several times per day, everyday. What a great service!

Getting a better understanding of a passage is the greatest tool for interpretation, and application.

Devoid of quite a few words and offers little as definitions for many words, but overall could be a nice dictionary if they didn’t constantly impede you to make you pay them. Every time you look up a word it forces you to sit through a timed ad that is ALWAYS made in a deceptive way to try and make you click it by accident. There’s no way to skip these ads as you have to wait through a 10 second timer before a skip option even appears, then you can finally see the results of the word you searched. Everytime you search something it does this. Of course you can have the ads removed for the low price of a subscription! Not to mention the words that are locked behind a paywall. Seriously piss off
