  • New version terrible

The new version is so buggy. They fix one thing and destroy another. Notifications are pretty much useless. When occasionally they do work they show up way past the event. Have to reboot often times to get latest info. Have reinstalled the app several times without much success The old app was great. Simple reliable and set it and forget it. I am considering cancelling my subscription. Having better success with other apps.
  • Does no sync across devices

Maybe I am missing something but … I travel with two cell phones, personal and business, an IPad and LAPTOP. I am very surprised that FlightView does not offer cross device synchronization. Actually SOCKED. Just downloaded the app on this phone and my upcoming trip is not there. It’s opening an email app on two devices and not seeing your emails.

Greedy! Just like others said, I bought the one-time lifetime purchase version, but they stopped updating it and pushed new subscription plans instead. Not recommended.
  • Some features are STILL missing or not working properly!

OK, I'm updating my review as of November 15, 2025. It still does not show that the flight is in air in the trip list. It says scheduled when the flight has long since taken off. You still cannot refresh the map as it throws you back to the details, which never used to happen before. Also, I'm not getting notifications even though I have it turned on everywhere. I keep updating the app, but after several updates, these items are still not fixed. Very disappointing because FlightAware works so much better but it's not as easy to read. I don't really wanna switch so I hope you can get this stuff fixed.

I had used their original app for many years and it was perfect. It did exactly what I needed to do and nothing more. I continue to use it for as long as I could, but now the old one no longer has a server access. I cannot recommend the new one. Among other things, it does not have a feature to automatically put flights on my calendar like the previous version did. At least no one that I can find. Also annoying little things like having to tap twice on the drop-down after you enter an airport code to put the data into the field. And there is no ability to import your historical flight data from the previous version. SMH

Several features were lost in consolidation including off line viewing. It is untenable that I can’t pull up a loaded trip off line. So I am on a flight with no internet access trying to see what arrival gate amd where my connection is an trip view has no data Makes app useless
  • Ads are incredibly disruptive.

Update: I just dropped it to 1 star. There was a semi recent update and some basic features were dropped. Like every time I go to select an airline, I have to reselect it. It should keep the last one I entered. I found another flight tracking app. that is 100 times better. I agree with Madfett. This app is almost unusable because of the highly disruptive ads. I have no problem with an app having ads for the free version, but this app randomly throws up a full page ad with audio at full volume. It’s incredibly disruptive in a business setting when I’m trying to check flight status. Two stars for that reason. I like the app otherwise but I can’t support an app that treats customers like that.
