    It's ridiculous that they make you go through the trouble of creating an account just to be able to see if there are any meet ups in your area. I live in a somewhat rural area and was skeptical that there would be meet ups near me. Went through the hassle of creating my account just to find out that that the nearest meet up is hours away. What a waste of time!

    Any organization that doesn’t let you opt out of “social media” cookies and “performance” cookies is a shady company that is selling you out to other organizations and spying on you. You have ZERO privacy with this app.

    I’ve been on meetup for over a decades if not 2. I’ve created numerous groups, from the east to the west coast with thousands of members. The app just isn’t keeping up with technology. It’s archaic. They’ve raised the price of meetup hosts or the point that after a decade, I gave up coz it was too expensive to pay for a group and the features were useless. To make it worse, there’s this silly weekly subscription you have to pay to see who’s coming to a meetup… that is very very stupid. A Facebook group is free and has better features. There’s plenty of other apps that are free and with better features.

    The update does not allow for review of the calendar. This was the single most valuable element of the former version. If I have to get on a laptop or desktop to easily review the calendar of all of my Meetups at once, I will not be participating in Meetup much. My guess is that the participation in Meetup will decline for most of the people. This app makes it less mobile, not more.

    Predatory subscriptions and they try their hardest to obtain and keep your data to sell, id rather walk outside and talk to strangers to be honest. Garbage

  • Terrible updates and changes

    They recently monetized their app and hide member information from groups and events, so you can’t see the current attendees or members before signing up, unless you pay of course. This on top of constant pop ups and ads soliciting users. A valuable and useful app ruined by greed.

    I did the week free trail, canceled and the charges me, and refused to refund my money! Be sure to cancel the subscription in the meetup account, if you do it in app store, they don’t respect!
