It works beautifully except with the Bluesky App.
  • Poor performance & buggy

App frequently shuts down immediately after opening the first article, or can’t display an article because it thinks I don’t have internet connection when I do.
  • a battery hog and many articles don’t load properly

I can watch a 2+ hour movie just fine on my iPad but the WSJ app will totally drains the battery in less time. I use it in print edition mode mostly, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Graphics heavy articles won’t load properly without restarting app. Frustrating.
  • Now they’re forcing full video ads with auto play and audio in articles

Now readers must endure full video ads with audio amid articles. Terrible. To say that WSJ has lost its way would be a wild understatement. Give it another year and then we can expect that a $300 annual subscription will feel the same as getting recipes for free online.
  • Sharing an article

It drives me absolutely crazy I can’t share an article from the iPhone app…
  • Now with ads, despite subscribing

They give new subscribers the impression that there won’t be ads, then slowly boil the frog by making the ads more visible, more frequent and more lowbrow/ spammy over time. I subscribed to get away from this trash- yet here it is. Guess I’ll just have to use the web version with an ad blocker.
  • Tons of subscription management problems with this App

This app has all the unnecessary options and no user friendly/ useful options 1. Restore purchases: trying to access/view info of my subscription I clicked this option and guess what it canceled my subscription!!! Unbelievable!! 2. Cannot view subscription info except in Apple subscription!! Just no option on the app 3. Cannot view what email I used to create an account. I clicked “My profile” it only shows my name and not the email.. Not useful, incomplete app, not recommended!!
  • Beware WSJ bait and switch offers

Was offered a “New Year’s Sale” WSJ subscription for six months. When accepted, WSJ charged me the full regular price, not the amount I approved. Connected with WSJ customer service and was told Apple controls the billing for WSJ app subscriptions and they (WSJ) can’t even see how much I am being charged. Contacted Apple and was told the developer/WSJ controls the price (same for all non-Apple developers).
  • Cannot add comments to articles

I like the content but the app won’t let you add comments or “participate in the conversation”. I don’t understand why this simple feature is unavailable.
  • WSJ is my favorite newspaper app is ok

My main complaint about the app is that it regularly forgets my subscription. And doesn’t remember it when I re enter my credentials. So I’ve stopped using it on my iPhone and usually only read in a browser, tablet or the physical paper. We have a wood stove and so the paper serves a dual purpose. (Edit) we stopped printing service due to poor delivery reliability. Another technical issue is clicking a link in twitter does not open the app, it opens a browser. And as said before, browser doesn’t always log you back in. And actually finding an article using the iPad app search feature is sometimes useless.
