Description

Uncover the mysteries of live air traffic in one beautiful and easy to use app. Is it a bird? Is it a plane?! If it’s the latter, Plane Finder can tell you exactly which plane it is. Plane Finder is incredibly easy to use and utterly fascinating. It enables you to see live air traffic patterns with real-time tracking of almost any plane you’re interested in, and in addition to the aircraft’s location you can see its current altitude, its speed and where it’s heading. Get live information on flights - super handy when travelling. You can even be alerted when a particular flight is heading your way, which is useful if you’re trying to catch sight of rare birds such as the Airbus A380. Switch to incredible 3D flight tracking anytime from any aircraft, airport or location on the map seamlessly to view air traffic as never before. There’s a superb augmented-reality option that enables you to point your camera at the sky and see details of the aircraft that’s overhead, and with full support for iOS’s Dark Mode it’s just as handy for night flights as it is for daytime ones. It’s all great fun, but it’s also very practical: in addition to flight tracking there’s extensive airport information, which supplements live arrival and departures with live weather reports for hundreds of airports. Enjoy Plane Finder’s leading edge design as featured in Apple’s “The Power of Dark Mode” and “See it in Dark Mode” Collections 2019. Apple’s App of The Day – Jan 2020 and Top ranking since 2009. Low helicopters go over my house. FAA told me to document their altitude. Not sure if they’re under the radar but they don’t show up on this app. Wasn’t worth the download time.

Display track is great. I really like it. The one downside is that there is an app purchases
  • Great but glitchy

Search is terribly glitchy. Search for exact flight number and you get a totally different flight route despite getting the correct number. Few other issues, but nothing as bothersome as this
  • Love it

I would love to have the full version, but aversion to it is, I paid the $20.oo to get the full version of the last plane tracker and it went bankrupt and closed it’s service shortly after I paid. No refund, no explanation, just “poof” no more plane tracking.

This is one of the best and top apps I have ever used. I have lost track as to how long it's been a part of my world - many years for sure - and I gladly pay the yearly renewal. The amount of information that this app offers is incredible and makes aircraft watching that much more enjoyable. It's been great when traveling or when dropping off/picking people up people the from airport. As an aside, one of the updates a while back (years ago) changed the appearance of the aircraft quite a bit from what I recall, but over a short period of time, I grew accustomed to the updated look. Total goofball tangent...it's fun to see an airplane fly over my house in Las Vegas, then fly over my parents home on the East Coast a few hours later. I send them good mojo that way. ;) Flying with the plane in 3D mode is quite entertaining - - taking screenshots then sharing them with those on that plane is another goofy thing I do. Overall, I would recommend this app to anyone. If you're spending money on coffee, streaming subscriptions, and other things - - the price of this app is really nothing.
  • I’ve finally found my (almost) perfect flight tracking app!

This app is fantastic, and in my opinion blows all the other big flight tracker players out of the water in terms of features and the user interface experience. The coolest feature for me is the filtering system. I’m a casual aviation enthusiast who mostly likes to see what’s happening over cities with police helicopter traffic, and with this app I can finally do that with ease! HOWEVER - if you operate your device primarily in dark mode (which some stats indicate that an almost 40% of iOS users do), the helicopter icons are so faint and small that they’re essentially useless, which is a huge, huge bummer. The issue is that the black outlines of aircraft icons don’t invert on dark mode, which makes them blend into the already-dark background. What you’re effectively left with then is just the fill-color of the icons as your primary visual aircraft indicators on the map. For helicopters in particular, these icons barely have any fill color as is, making them incredibly difficult to spot on a map in dark mode, and it’s super frustrating if you no longer have the eyes of a 22 year old. Devs! Please update aircraft icon border colors for better accessibility in dark mode! I bet a slightly darker shade of the icon’s yellow would look pretty sharp, like a goldish orange. If you guys do that, I’ll be a customer for life! EDIT: Dropping a few stars. After months of use I’ve noticed that this app has really poor helicopter tracking. A medivac just now flew over my house, clearly visible on the Flight Aware app, but was nowhere to be found here in the Plane Finder app. This happens SO often, especially with police helicopters. I think it’s finally time to say good bye to this app and cancel my subscription. It’s a shame too, because this app does everything else really well - just not the plane finding part.

If you see something flying over or want to know how fast what’s the altitude where it’s coming from and where it’s going this will do it. It’s amazing!
