  • Double billing

Ancestry charged me double for a single membership, One semiannual, which was correct, and then also charged me $40 per month for the same membership. I tried to get them to correct it but they refused, playing dumb in customer service that they had no record of charging me monthly. I finally had to block all charges on my card from Ancestry to keep them from picking my pocket every month. Fraud reported.

Can you please add the a description when uploading information so that I don't have to go in again to the same file to add it! For example, when downing an address, I would like to add comments before it goes into the file! It takes twice as long to do one task! Also, switching accounts needs to be easier! I don't like having to hunt for it! Adding Ing profile pictures that you want to use is a nightmare! It doesn't always take, so I have to go back into the person and do it again! Again takes time! I don’t like the two tear authorization doing the blood dna so I haven’t done it in ages!
  • Greed at its finest

If you don’t pay for a subscription, you can only see your immediate matches and cultural background. You can’t see matches you have in common with another match. Nearly renders the purpose of having taken a test pointless. They previously offered this and was then taken along with so many other options. You can’t view these matches if you pay. This company has gotten more and more greedy. They forget that without people testing and uploading their personal documents/information, they wouldn’t have the immense data they’ve amounted.

It's changed so much and people have gotten into my tree changed information on it and added stuff that my tree does not even look like my tree anymore I was with the DAR so I verified before I put it in. I was off of the app for a while because of sickness go back on and people have changed everything and I have lost so much of my information that I am very, very disappointed in ancestry.

My tree 🌲I have been a member For quite some time… my name was Deborah Summers. I took my maiden name back. Well now I’am a low income Senior and I had to 😫cancel my subscription. I tried to download my tree but unfortunately I am old and it did not work. 🥹😭 after all that work since dial up! I have nothing! I will be 73 this year and wanted to give it to my sons…right or wrong I now only have charts like the old days… a lot of papers notes etc. if I could afford to renew my subscription you bet I would! I now have time to work on it Please please 🙏🏼 Help me recover my tree so I can down load it or something , all the years of work I put into it and photos 🥹 I don’t know how to do it

The app is very glitchy and I frequently experience the notification “unavailable at this time.”

I don't normally write reviews but i feel like what has happened with this app deserves one. They change your DNA results very often. I went from having over 40% Scottish ancestry to having 20% then suddenly having cornwall and the czech republic as ancestry matches. If this is from a dna strain then our results should not change this drastically. Also the many stories i have from my family history are all from Scotland and Ireland. I am second generation Scottish immigrant so how is this even possible? My grandparents immigrated to America. And my great grandparents on my on my fathers side escaped the Irish famine. Another problem i have noticed is the traits are very wrong, for example - it says i do not have freckles, i have many many freckles. I am extremely athletic but the app says i have leas athletic ability then the normal human when i actually have better endurance than most, i absolutely hate the taste of cilantro it tastes like soap to me - but the app says i love it, i have dimples but the app says i do not, i have adhd and cannot focus but the app says it is easy for me, i cannot handle hot weather but the app says i have good heat tolerance, mosquitos eat me alive but the app says i am less likely to be bit by them. Everything seems wrong and backwards and i am upset because i paid for the traits. Unfortunately if this is truly a dna test these things should not be changing
