I would like to start this by stating that if you’re actively trying to lose weight, than this app is not for you. For starters if you’re a man it won’t even allow you to track your calories or fitness if you’re under 1500 calories ( Exceeds the maximum Healthy Calorie deficit by 500 calories). Because of this , it misleads people and ultimately slows down progress. If you’re trying to lose weight you want to burn more calories than you’re taking in or at least after exercise have the total intake under 300-350 calories. That and with their “Macro System” it essentially either requires taking in massive amounts of Fat and or Carbs. Or heavily exceeding your Caloric intake to get lots of protein in. If you’re looking to track your fitness and nutrition, you’re way better off writing it in a journal.

This app is great and I do lose weight when I’m religious about counting my calories but I wish you didn’t need a subscription to use the bar code scanner. That’s is a game changer and use to be free. That’s the only thing I would use out of the subscription. I just don’t want to pay a subscription and then decide I’m not gonna use it anymore after a couple of weeks or months.
  • Overall I like it, minor tweaks would be nice

I’d love if we were able to edit my recipes. Once you input them there’s no way to edit it and it’s frustrating. Plus the bulk input option for recipes is weird and often doesn’t match up properly with the inputted ingredients. I wish Fitbit and MyFitnessPal would work better together so I don’t have to manually input my tracked exercise from Fitbit to MyFitnessPal
  • Great! Except…

This app is great for tracking all of your calorie needs easily. You have to buy premium to get access to the barcode scanner. It helps with planning my meals for the day to stay within my goals and limits. The fasting tracker only seems to show up on iPad, not iPhone. Which means you have to carry that around with you in the mornings to scan your things and turn it off when you begin to eat again. My only Major issue with it is that I’m trying to connect my other health apps to it for cross sharing data for that deep dive into getting my health back on track with exercise and weigh-ins and because I created my account with my Apple ID anonymous…. whenever I go to connect the app, it reverts to the website instead of the myfitness pal app which asks to log in…. and there is no button that says continue with Apple you only have login, continue with Google, or continue with Facebook . If you put that continue with Apple on the login screen on the website so that I can link all of my other apps Then that would be great and I will amend my stars to 5 stars.

Other apps allow you to scan the barcode without paying a premium. Wish this one did.
  • Free version not useful anymore
