  • Too costly and promotes sex

    As a black woman I knew going into the app dating scene was going to be difficult because of research it’s typically harder for us and Asian men. However, this app has been giving a fancy tender. Damn near all of my marches were looking for sex strictly and that’s it . It’s so annoying, it’s truthfully not that apps fault for that but still frustrating. Also I do feel that the does not ask great questions. I only answer 60 but had to skip over 20 because they are all about open relationships or didn’t make sense . As a example “ Does watching your partner be intimate with someone else turn you on?” , “ do you like to play ?”. Like wtf. I know that’s a thing but it just seems like the app promoting people to sleep around and their partners to sleep around. Not to mention it’s cost $40 just to see who likes you and views your profile. Which is annoying because it seems like more people are interested than they really are and mind you that’s $40 for the week.

  • This app has a REAL problem with people changing their location

    This app would be at least three stars if it weren’t for this one HUGE problem. Half the profiles I come across on this app say stuff like “I’m based in the Phillipines, I just changed my location”. Something needs to be done about this because I am looking specifically for people near me, not people millions of miles away from me in another country. Make it so that profiles can search for people outside their location without recommending their profiles to people who are looking for profiles of people nearby. Because the way things are now, this app isn’t helpful. On a separate note, maybe introduce an “interests” feature similar to what a lot of other dating apps have.

    I joined, filled out everything, matched with one person, and immediately my account was deleted. I had an account 6 years ago, deleted it then, and now I still can’t make one because I have the same phone number, I assume?

    App is so buggy, that when typing an intro to someone, it somehow went back a page and automatically swiped right on two people. Intro was lost. This happened to me twice. Also won’t let you paste text into the app. On iPhone 14, when okc is open, it’s nearly impossible to use the swipe up motion to switch apps.

    Like the title says. Every match is someone from another country that is “traveling “ to the USA. And no matter what setting I change that’s all I get.

    If you’re transgender, for example, you’re going to be forced to pay for your safety. Even if you deselected “Straight” they’ll still show you 95% of the profiles of Straight people, often Cis Men. Which makes this a very DANGEROUS dating app for trans women especially. This app (Match Group) cares more about money than making sure they’re not aiding and abetting hate crimes. OKC is effectively worthless if not a threat to trans peoples lives. Going to delete this app. It’s not worth gambling with my life or feeling like I been given my safety for a ransom. Get outta here with that Also…they use facial recognition and what they or the third party does with that data remains to be seen. ALSO…wtf is a Superlike?? They always pop up for people that are actual matches. Without a Superlike to give you gotta swipe left. So if you’re using it for free they’re gonna make it virtually unusable. HOW MANY REASONS DO YOU NEED? This app fell off big time. Match Group is the worst thing to ever happen to digital dating.

    I’m trying this app for the first time, and I don’t know if it’s real or a scam. The experience feels bumpy, and asking for payment immediately is frustrating. It should offer a free trial, like 3 days, so new users can test the app first and decide if they like it before paying. This way, people won’t feel like they’re wasting their time, and it would make the app much more user-friendly and trustworthy.

    Okcupid died when it added the swipe feature trying to be more like tinder and bumble. I honestly liked Okcupid best because of the capability feature. They should have leaned more into to that.
