  • Wrong app for Men. Look for "Stylebook Men" instead.

Purchased this to start tracking my closet, but saw several typically female-gendered categories such as "dresses" and "heels" but missing typically male-gendered categories like "suits" or "dress shoes". Couldn't find an option to change category names or add new ones, or an option in settings that would switch. Upon further research there's another app called "Stylebook Men" that has these categories but is a separate app with a separate purchase. Unfortunately it seems that Apple doesn't allow refunds for this app.
  • Pros and Cons

Downloaded this because I liked the appearance and layout in the sample pictures. I think Whering app has done better over Stylebook in a few key factors: Whering has WAAAY better background removal, the ability to duplicate an item from within outfit editing, and better pinch and zoom ability in outfit editing - in fact better maneuverability overall within editing. But it’s not all bad. I like Stylebook’s outfit generator, the grid appearance, and the ability to enter sizes manually, something I can’t do in Whering. I also like the clean look. The Stylebook sorting function is top tier. I can sort by color, brand, fabric, etc. It imports decently from the web, allowing you to pick from multiple photos on some pages. Whering was very slow and also defaults to UK brands and sizes. Stylebook works better for me in the U.S. in that regard. It’s not a terrible app by any means, but I do think the background removal is awful and the pinch-zoom and options when creating an outfit could be improved. Upgraded my rating to 4 stars after playing with the stats features.

I love tracking my wardrobe and planning my outfits in the app. The stats are super useful. I love the packing list functionality and use it for every trip. I am a devoted user and fan. Thank you for the thoughtful enhancements in this latest update!
  • Clunky UI Needs Improvements

This app is a little clunky and needs some UI improvements, mainly for ease of use and speed. - Add the option to define custom color names as text (i.e. “olive” instead of just “green”). I would also like to be able to set something like “multi” or “speckled” for example. - Add the ability to change the background color (white/black) when editing item pictures, the transparent checkerboard in the background makes it difficult to see. - Streamline the item addition process, make it one-click to add an item’s details or a guided flow would be nice. It takes too many clicks to add a single item right now. However the automated background cropping is one of the best I’ve seen!

I really like Stylebook and the developer has made some wonderful changes in recent years. I have only request, though. It’s a big one, but it would make the app so much better. I put together a packing list for a 2 month trip. I want the clothes to coordinate well since I can’t take everything. I’d like to put together outfits from the packing list items only. As far as I can tell, it’s not possible. You can make outfits for your trip, but you have to select from your entire closet or select LOOKS that you already have. I’m not sure I get the point of that. And I can’t figure out how to create Looks from the packing list items only!
  • My Favorite App.

Can’t say enough about this app. This one very very quickly became my favorite. Now that I have my entire wardrobe in categories and organized, so is my closet…. And as a hoarder, now I’m not buying tons of duplicates, I’m donating what I never wear since the app shows that clearly, I’m now able to see everything I have and not panic staring at some random abyss in the back of my closet thinking “I have nothing to wear!” I have a “maybe donate” folder for the stuff I’m holding to let go of. I’m also going to use this method by creating folders for my books, collections, and junk so I can organize and get rid of other things. And see them all clearly on the app. This is a GAME CHANGER for someone who hoarded too much and used to have major anxiety just looking at an overflowing closet with no categories and organization. Best $$ I’ve ever spent.
  • OG and Still the Best

I used this app heavily up until 5 years ago, and now I am looking to re-digitize my wardrobe. I looked around and tried out some of the newer apps with their flashy UI and features, but Stylebook is still the best. The feature it has that I don’t see in other apps and can’t live without, is the ability to erase areas of an image after the (very good) background removal tool has a go. Often times this will mean erasing model hands and feet so they aren’t distracting in my outfits. For that reason, I’m coming back to Stylebook! Happy to see there are more features now, too, like iCloud syncing. :)

I have been using this app for years. It helps me know what is already in my closet so I don’t overbuy or duplicate. I can keep track of favorite looks, plan for travel, make a capsule wardrobe, and add pics of myself wearing the outfits 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Update 2025- still using this for spending management and planning etc, would like to see dare added with ability to gat a sum value per year or specific date range for budgeting- style stats? So I have been using this for four months now and find it helps me manage my wardrobe very well. I wear more accessories as well, since I can see and shuffle things easily. I can also see what's missing from my wardrobe. Here are a few fixes: 1) need to be able to get to looks for a specific piece of clothing easier 2) a pain to add new clothes, like from in calendar takes like 5 clicks to back out and three to add 3) can't crop after initial upload, even when replacing image 4) should be able to toggle off categories in stats (least worn, cost per wear) particularly for jewelry - that turquoise ring is amazing even if I don't wear it daily :) pretty much all of these are jewelry and accessories now, which is not the most useful thing - maybe see all clothes ordered also? 5) should be able to select a specific clothing item for shuffle - for example a new dress or pants or shoes to see combos with other stuff in closet 6) color choice sticks frequently and won't scroll, also trying to categorize "coral" in pink or orange is hard - I'd like to be able to select custom colors and color categories 7) the ability to create seasonal "capsules" would be nice 8) should be able to create outfits from packing list items only that go into a category named for that list 9) packing list should remember what you checked as packed 10) stuff in wishlist should not appear in never worn or in no looks stats 11) need a way to "retire" clothes to remove from stats and still keep for history - I wore those Capri jeans into the ground ;)
