There are too many ads. Some very intrusive. Maybe if your subscriptions prices were more affordable more guys would subscribe lessening the need for these stupid ads. Too many trans people. This app used to for men even if they were effeminate. Let the trans and their fans find some other avenue.
  • New update, new worthless features, same trash app

First off I can’t even access the app because I’m being swarmed by pop up ads as soon as I open the app. Trying to open a message? AD! Trying to view a profile? AD! Trying to search for someone outside the local cesspool of closeted married men, content creators, scammers or addicts? That’s $120 or ADS! Since Grindr started collecting stock the app is trash. I’d recommend scruff or one of the other gay dating apps for other gay men. Updated : with the recent update I now receive constant messages from dangerous fake profiles posing as trans women. Grindr has no regard for the safety of the lgbt community. 12/14 update - Grindr is really pushing the “roam” feature. This used to be a totally free feature. Also noticed all the faceless profiles are near me yet if I scroll down to the xtra (where you pay to see more profiles) literally everyone has a face pic and filled out profile… coincidence, I doubt it. I think it’s time to try other dating apps 1/8 - so many fake profiles. I literally start my day by blocking at least 6 bot profiles. I think the glory days of Grindr are long gone. Thanks for keeping us single so you can make money off us by collecting and selling our data. 1/20 - I didn’t think it was possible but there’s literally even more ads 🤦🏻‍♂️ the ceo should meet Luigi

I’ve had Grindr for a very long time and it just gets worse every year… that’s the only thing you can rely on with it. Their updates are always in an effort to try and get money out of us and the pop ups are obnoxious. Choose something else and don’t bother downloading.

Every single time if you don't have a paid subscription the app always go automatically to add the second you open up a message you get from someone not allowing you to read the message it is so annoying it makes me want to shank a newborn

The app use to be fairly usable but these advertisements are crazy and the cost for premium is just not justifiable, luckily there’s lots of alternatives but it would be nice to see this one regain some of it’s usability.
  • If you like Ads this is the app for you.

Grindr has lost the plot. You can’t click anywhere without an ad popping up. Truly ruining the experience. I get there is a paid version and I’m fine with ads every so often but the app has truly become unusable. I’d advise that you look into other apps or platforms because Grindr is only getting worse.
  • FAKE PROFILE FRAUD …

Grindr uses & manipulates an Army of “Fake” Profiles. Grid is mostly all fakes. Profiles 300 miles away are now presented as being local, or next to you ! The grid is no longer distance based as claimed. Misleading and fraudulent at best. Grindr own “Fake” Profiles always reappears after being blocked ! The Grindr App is also severely flooded by scammers and criminal activities of various trades. Surely not a safe place to meet anyone.

This new version has really changed my opinion of this app. I don’t mind all of the advertisements now come for the free version.. But I do object to no longer being able to send the 10 second pictures that automatically expire. I am now living in a country where if I can be identified, I can be put in jail. So, because you want everyone to be a paid member, I will no longer be able to use your app. I thought we were community. That would include people who have the money to buy the paid version, and still allow the people who do not have funds available to pay to still be able to use the app. You really disappointed me.

The app constantly shows ads whether you’re looking at someone’s profile or responding to a message. The app will filter out profiles with high click rates so that you have to pay a subscription fee to see anyone remotely attractive. Otherwise, all you’ll see on your grid are trolls. If you use the filter function, they give you 3 profiles in that filter. It’s ludicrous. The app is barely functional for the purpose it was originally designed for unless you’re paying $25 a week

Apps a joke and so are the people who work for Grindr. Ads are worse now than ever. Sadly this app has gotten worse over time not better and they have the nerve to charge what they do.
