    This app has completely tanked itself since I first started. Everything is behind a paywall. It’s now near impossible to connect with anyone without paying a subscription. Not to mention the insane number of scam accounts on there. Garbage app and will be switching to a new Platform

    I’m not exaggerating when I say this app is 90% populated by bots and spam accounts. Every time I open it, without fail, I get flooded with bogus messages and shoddy chatgpt nonsense. It’s not worth paying for this app if the team that runs it isn’t going to put in any effort to actually run it.

    I really have no idea who is giving this awful app 5 star ratings (aside from the people they pay to do it…) but hopefully you REALLY enjoy ads. Like, I hope you absolutely love ads more than you enjoy actually talking to people, because that’s how you’ll be spending the majority of your time on this app. Being forced to watch ads, “close” buttons appearing only to open the ad in the App Store, apps popping up WHILE you’re typing messages, ads popping up IN YOUR messages, ads are even showing in the list of people now. It’s absolutely beyond absurd and “out of control” is such an understatement that it’s not even funny. The app is basically unusable, and most times I find myself completely closing and not using it, especially considering they now charge you for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. You can’t even see most taps anymore. Grindr has truly become a waste of time and it’s only a matter time until a new, FAR less greedy app takes over, and I’ll be here for it.

    About the top package and thought I would have easier time surfing and finding people when it still had non-accurate locations and it wasn’t that much better and they would say people for me that are nothing like my type. I was very disappointed for as much money as I paid, it was really not worth it

  • Ads constantly

    The ads on here are insane. I get the need for a free tier and ads supplementing a subscription but the sheer amount of them and how they’ve increased makes the app practically unusable. Every time I open the app now I have to see 2-3 ads, then another one when I load someone’s profile. And then another one when I get a message. It’s constant. Terrible. I refuse to subscribe and I’d rather just find another app than deal with these ads.

    All the ads for ED medications and “athletic”wear would already be a huge annoyance (as an Xtra subscriber, no less) but it’s especially frustrating given the recent massive uptick in spam and spambots on the app. Practically my whole message pane is advertisements and solicitations. And that’s on top of the pop-ups! I get that you’re owned by private equity and you need to wring out every last cent out of your userbase, but that certainly doesn’t make it any less galling.

    With the paid app, all they do is spam you with their ad advertisements… You clear it delete it and it comes back every minute… Enough is enough when I clear it and I’ve had enough stop it! Also, all these guys on here, solicit with website websites… This app is complete in total garbage…

  • Constant Popup Ads, Even When Using Premium

    The app has become exemplary in greedily capitalizing on the few options gays have in exchange for providing a product that becomes less and less usable. It’s INSANE that I would still have to deal with popup ads for their own services even while paying for premium. I hope the dark blue competitor app absolutely destroys their place in the market so they start having to try. Seriously, screw this app and this company: Continually increasing the price while removing features and increasingly diminishing functionality. When the working class eats the rich, the people in charge of Grindr will be among the first.
