  • Was Good... not working now… working again.

Update: I received a nice response from the Waite group. I also found that the app is working again. The only difference I see is that there was an IOS update from 26.3 to 26.3.1. Maybe that was the problem. I don’t know. The main thing for me is that someone responded, even if it was an Apple problem not theirs. I didn’t lose any personal data because of the iCloud backup and it now works. Old: My iBird Pro is not working. When I load the United Kingdom data base it crashes everytime I try to scroll after loading it. Then it gets to the point where the app won't open. I have re-installed the app three times I submitted this concern over a week ago to the Zendesk help site as directed but have received no acknowledgment. My notes and favorites sync with a 2 Terabite iCloud drive. So far I have not lost any saved data when I reinstall. iPhone 17 Pro Max Model# MFXH4LL/A iOS Version 26.3 Storage - 90 of 256 GB used iBird Pro Guide to Birds Version 13.5.8 Build 628
  • Can’t restore my annual subscription!

Don’t subscribe! It asks you to restore your subscription every time and to no avail! Customer support is non existent. The send button is grayed out. Something is off about this!
  • Impossible to restore

I’m another one of the unhappy purchasers of iBird. I paid for the app years ago and then opened it one day to find my access had been revoked. I tried several times over several weeks to restore it and finally gave up. A couple of years later I am trying again and it’s impossible to get access still. Go check out the Audubon app which is awesome and adding new features regularly — and it will always be free and available.

Stay away from this app. You will get screwed. Downloaded the app “for life version” and they cut off access and now require subscriptions. Use Sibley or Merlin. Capitalism without clear and easy to understand policies is just theft. Stay away!

Went from a paid app to a subscription based model that made the app unusable without subscribing. Would never buy from them again.

I tried the new iBirdGPT out of simple curiosity. I just wanted to figure out what bird I was hearing, and suddenly I found myself chatting with it like someone you’d meet on a quiet trail. It explains things in a straightforward way, which I appreciate; I finally understand what a “wing bar” is. It took me a little while to decide when to use it instead of the regular search, but once I got the hang of it, it became something I enjoyed using.
  • Failure to address issue

I had a subscription to iBird Pro when it was first released about a decade ago. It was quite expensive by the standards of the time and then just disappeared unsupported and with it my money. I rediscovered that the app returned and I’ve tried to restore my subscription. I have sent numerous requests over a period of 5 weeks and although they have been noted, there is no response as to a resolution. I have been totally ignored since.
  • Has depth and no internet needed

This is a good, dependable app. It has plenty of information, and the sound recordings are clear. The interface looks a little dated, but honestly, reliability matters more to me than fancy graphics. It works offline when I’m deep in the woods, which is what I truly need. I’d just like to see it get a bit faster and cleaner as time goes on.
  • A strange feature I didnt know I wanted

The iBirdGPT button really does what it promises. I asked how to tell female grosbeaks apart, and it explained it in a simple, clear way. It took me a moment to find where the button was, but once I did, it became something I used often. It isn’t flashy, but it’s genuinely helpful, which is what matters to me.

It’s been over 6 months and they still won’t tell me when or if they are going to give me my pictures back
