Lose It! is a fantastic app! It makes logging one’s calorie intake really easy. And, the more you use it, the easier it gets! But, it tracks more than just calories. You can track nutrients and set goals to ensure you’re getting what you need in your diet, and avoid what you should not have too much of. It’s an amazingly full-featured app! The one feature I’d like the development team to add soon is an automatic time stamp that can be viewed and edited for each item added to the log, or to a meal as a group. Another area worth considering would be tracking how diet influences recurring symptoms in people’s lives. For example, how might intake of certain foods change occurrences of constipation, diarrhea or frequent urination? Or, how are certain foods affecting sleep patterns, mood, or headache? One could choose and/or enter any symptom. LoseIt! could then calculate a list of correlations each food or nutrient has with that symptom. A user, for example, could read down the list of correlations and determine that they need food with more sodium to avoid muscle cramps associated with strenuous exercise. This enhancement could be monetized as an add-on to the original software and could be called Dietary Insights. Data collected could be anonymized and sold for research and marketing purposes. I’m thinking drug companies, for example, would be interested in using the data as a way to parse out side effects and interactions with nutrients. I’m a huge fan of LoseIt! and want to see it reach its full potential as a tool to improve people’s lives. It’s my favorite app! I’m hoping to get a response from LoseIt! regarding the enhancement suggestions above.

This app was my favorite tracker until recently. They’ve become too greedy and now, you have to pay for nearly everything. You can’t even scan barcodes of food packages anymore without needing to pay. I’ll be moving onto another app now.

I really wanna give this at a five star review as I like so much about it. I think it’s integration with Apple health and when I’ve used android devices Samsung health has been great BUT it literally crashes every time you try to log into meal. So what should be a simple process turns into an exercise in frustration tolerance just to get a single meal log strongly recommend looking at my fitness pal, or something else as an alternative and sadly, I say that after having paid for the lifetime subscription of this one.
  • Allow users to skip the interview questions

I use LoseIt! for my meal tracking when I’m entering a period of weightlifting/muscle building, to track macros for wellness or during times of training or recovery, and for a whole host of other reasons. It’s great for this. BUT…I seriously can’t stand the patronizing “Why are you coming back?” interview questions that AREN’T skippable. None of the reasons for using your app or reasons I haven’t been using the app ever apply to me. And everything assumes that I’m meal tracking to solve a problem with my body or that I stopped because I fell off the bandwagon. It’s a little insulting and makes me not want to open the app. At the least, how about an option that you left due to a major illness or injury? And another that’s “another reason not listed” for all the questions? I’m thinking about dropping my paid membership.

I have been using this app for roughly ten years and until A few years ago, this used to be a great app. Now they have become greedy and it’s barely usable, with full-page ads and video ads popping up preventing you from doing anything. To make it worse they’re trying to push everyone into subscribing while at the same time informing us that they’re no longer maintaining the website version. One more case of paying more and getting increasingly less. The American business model.
  • Cant track net carbs

There is no way to track net carbs in the app. Seems like a large oversight for a diet app.

I was told that this app was linked with another nutritionist app, but when my nutritionist tried to access it did not work as it was advertised

  • Temu adds = 0 stars

10/24/25: Still happening. Wasting 5 minutes of my time with a spinning wheel Temu add that won’t let you close it. I have reached my limit on the dishonest adds for Temu the app has been running recently. As a free user, I’m fine with sitting through an add so the company can get some funding to stay open. When that add loops and the close button is hidden under a close button that is in the add itself, so that when you try to close it you’re just opening the advertised website? No. Stay far away from this app and any other app that would do business with a company that has to resort to dishonest business practices for website views.
