  • Could use improvements.

    I have to close the app and re-open it to have current/updated stats (i.e. accurate time asleep), so that could use improvements. Other than that, the app does provide peace of mind when my baby is asleep.

  • Connectivity is awful

    Owlet should be ashamed at how long the app takes to actually show you your child. When opening the app it sometimes takes minutes to load while you stare at a spinning wheel of death. Sometimes it doesn’t load at all and you have to close the app repeatedly until it opens. This product is not safe. Period. I wish we never purchased this cam, save your money for a product that works.

    so very disappointed. i got the duo cam and sock. its ridiculous that the amount of money you pay and the app that you need for it barely works. constantly glitching, not loading, or just simply wont connect even though it is. my 35$ backup monitor works better then this. in love when i first bought it and now i regret this purchase.

    The update made the owlet dream sock really buggy. False readings and giving parents a scare saying low oxygen when baby is fine.

    Every update is more broken than the last. It’s like this company is purposely trying to ruin its products. Just go buy an inexpensive baby cam on Amazon and you will have a better experience and happier wallet. Wish I could rate zero stars.

  • Oh yay another subscription

    Adding a subscription to this app completely ruined it. It glitches non stop now and in this day and age we’re already paying subscription fees for basically everything except breathing. This company built them selves on claiming they were here to protect babies and give parent peace of mind…after years of free usage adding a fee for that peace of mind is pathetic and hopefully their downfall…hopefully they realize their mistake and remove this ridiculous and unnecessary attempt at greed and go back to being a well meaning company.

  • App and Cam Devices are Atrocious

    The entire team who developed the mobile app and Cam2 should be fired. The app has so many bugs you would think it was done at a discount by a group of college kids overseas. The Cam2 has bugs when pairing the device, etc. I’ve been working on Mobile apple and IoT devices for 10 years and I can say their products are subpar. Their sock is great though, that’s the only reason why we are sticking with them. Hopefully this gets to their engineering team: 1) add a feature to have multiple cameras to a single child. We keep our baby in multiple locations depending on the time of day. Moving a cam isn’t convenient. So we purchased multiple, but now we need to have a child profile per camera. 2) make the WiFi and pairing process easier. I don’t recommend pairing via QR code. And limiting to 2.4 GHz band is just archaic. 3) the cameras get bricked if the firmware is updating and the power is cut off. 4) the camera should not reset after being unplugged for more than 30 seconds. The WiFi settings should be saved and should only be reset if user takes action to reset WiFi connection. 5) Can’t change the assigned child profile between devices easily. One needs to remove the device, then add again, then assign it to the new profile. 6) the cam often goes from pairing model to solid blue/red light without user input. 7) The child profile picture does not update instantaneously. 8) I’ve tried adding my phone number to the account several times and it never saves. 9) The app should support multiple users accessing the same devices and socks or children profiles. I can go on but this should be enough for them to fix

  • Saved my Premie Son’s Life

    My son was born premature. We brought him home and he was progressing nicely. I think we both got sick with something. His cry had changed and he was sleeping a lot. We did not think much of it and thought he would pick up on his own. Around 2am one Saturday morning his oxygen saturation fell below the threshold. When we went to him he was laying limp in his bassinet. I took him up and tried bouncing him to kick start his breathing- still no breath. I told my husband to call 911 and in an act of desperation, I blew in his mouth. He took a shallow breath and slowly started breathing again. By this time the emergency responders were on the phone with us. This happened again before we went to the hospital. We would not have known that something was wrong if he had not been wearing that sock. I highly recommend especially for preterm babies.

    We used to love this app when our daughter was a newborn. She’s now 10 months old and after several updates the app hardly works. It takes us opening and closing the app 10+ times just to see the new information. Sometimes it takes up to a few hours for it to register a 30 minute nap. Really disappointed with the app.
