  • Love the concept - dislike the implementation.

I love the idea of virtual cards. It reduces the risk of credit card theft for me, and it likely reduces fraud and disputes for Capital One too. Eno’s merchant-specific virtual numbers and the ability to lock/unlock them give me real control over online payments. My only real gripe is the tradeoff between privacy and usability. I prefer granting Eno access only on sites where I’m actually buying something. But under that tighter permission model, the Safari extension becomes clunky: enabling it per-site, ensuring capitalone.com permissions, reloading, and signing in can take multiple steps. The experience is clearly smoother when you allow broader access — but that broader access is a serious privacy consideration - is it worth having a virtual card number in exchange for giving capital one access to all of your website data? Another big issue I have is that when I travel, I CANNOT use virtual card numbers because IPs outside of the US are blocked. Virtual Credit Card numbers are probably MOST useful during my trips (especially in some of the countries I visit)… so that would actually be the best time to be limiting access to my real card info. Not only that, but the idea of getting a replacement card in say, Sierra Leone, if your real card number is stolen makes virtual card numbers even more valuable!.. If a virtual card number gets stolen, you just have to lock it and move on - your physical card is still safe and you don’t need to order a replacement. I did work around this by generating ~5 virtual card numbers before going to Africa and then saving them in a locked note on my iPhone… but doing this on the fly would be tricky. Anyway, if they can work out the browser privacy issue and allow the virtual card number to be generated overseas, this would be a 5 star extension.

This never works for Safari, but it used to work fine on Chrome! It never remembers to keep me signed in and then after taking 90 seconds to log-in, it gives an error message to please try again later.

Talk about a financial assistance app that simply is unable to help. They have the poorest list of prompts amongst any apps that will get you to the correct person. You will be frustrated enough to cancle your account, or bever use them again. I closed mine as they are not dependable nor honest.
  • Breaks web sites If denied access

I do like the concept and do use it for creating online card numbers that are specific to a site. However, I have found that it breaks or interferes with some sites that I use regularly. If I allow access to all sites, I find the browser will slow down and some sites have slow response times. When I disable Eno, I do not have this problem. If I deny access to all sites by default and selectively allow it only for those sites I use it on I have found some sites don’t work. I have to use the keyboard to navigate as the links don’t get initialized for mouse use.
  • Designed to be slow. Login failures

I don’t get how a well capitalized firm can produce such trashy software. All these spinners, delayed transitions just annoy users. I would give it 3-4 starts just because its useful even if I have to suffer via slow interface, but its stopped working with generic error. 1 star. Try to do better, capital one.

Works fast and quickly - really great functionality to allow for single use credit card numbers. Haven’t seen other companies with better competing product.

Simply will not open in Safari.
  • Incredibly slow

I like the security provided by Eno. But for whatever reason, I find it incredibly slow. It requires at least 90s seconds...sometimes more like 2-3 minute to load, create the virtual card, and then complete the transaction. Using my actual credit card, I can complete a transaction in a fraction of that time...usually only a few seconds.
